The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
- Compiling requirements, populating eFDVS with programme requirements, authoring new requirements as necessary.
- Setting targets definition of full suite of targets e.g. Wading, Gradeability, Traction performance for programme to include cascading to module groups and target negotiation / attribute balancing as necessary.
- Futuring targets for post Job 1 programme derivatives by consideration of PALS positioning & potential future competitor actions
- Definition of test plan, work in conjunction with project team to define test plan for programme for off-road testing in UK & in hot & cold climatic conditions
- Test to plan and maintain overall target spend levels against budget
- Working with CoCs and other PATs to develop designs that provide the necessary vehicle architectural and design characteristics that deliver good off-road performance.
- Management of multi-functional team to carry out the test plan e.g. development of enhanced off-road capability on programme will involve managing team from Powertrain engines, transmissions, driveline, Chassis integration, slip control systems, Packaging & Design
- All vehicle project work has to be carried out within project timing requirements of FPDS / GPDS.
- Reporting to senior management on the project status at regular milestone reviews represent ORC team at gateway events
- Carry out robust lobbying of other CoC's to ensure attribute targets are met, support project and program meetings VIT, PST, 'Must Resolves', PD Issues, L1 reviews etc. All reporting out to be completed within gateway timing requirements of project
- Data recorded needs to be collated & analysed report written & conclusions drawn from this data
- Further definition / development of the attribute itself supporting the development of a generic Off-road Capability ARL from SetK
- Assisting in the compilation of generic requirements. All reporting out has to be carried out within gateway timing requirements of project
- Good working knowledge of vehicle engineering, test & development, and experience of whole vehicle evaluation
- Proven project and time management skills
- Demonstrable evidence of pplication of a robust scientific approach & knowledge of design of experiments

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level
- Highly self-motivated engineer with proven inter-personal communication/networking skills
- Proven project and time management skills and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision
- Demonstrable man-management, team working, organisational and budget management skills
- Demonstrating a robust scientific approach with knowledge of design of experiments
- Good working knowledge of vehicle engineering, test & development, and experience of whole vehicle evaluation
- Off-road driver skills to 3OR and on road driver skills to 3PG
- Confident presentation & report-writing skills; competent use of MS Office
- Knowledge of Market requirements and specific off-road customer / driver expectations
- A flexible approach to work beyond normal hours as required
- Reasonable flexibility to support overseas testing

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Development of off-road metrics
- Writing procedures to support ORC development
- Define expenditure for development of off-road measures
- Carrying out evaluations with a number of vehicles & engineering personnel; recording & analysing data writing report & drawing conclusions from this data
- All metric development project work has to be carried out within project timing requirements of FPDS / GPDS
