The Company:
Our Client’s engineering division, has been a leader in the design of drilling facilities for offshore platforms worldwide for over 30 years. The company’s 700-strong workforce provides a range of engineering services from pre-project and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) through detail design, construction support, hook-up and commissioning.

The Role:
(a) Develop rolling annual major project look heads to provide input to annual operating and capex budgets;
(b) Input area Project data to the monthly project sanction meetings
(c) To review major rig upgrade requirements and major overhauls/recertifications and maintain a 5 year look ahead;
(d) To plan and scope out projects;
(e) To manage and coordinate functions within internal and external vendors;
(f) To develop end to end project budgets from country, commercial and E&M;
(g) To plan, organise and co-ordinate the activities relating to major projects using the resources within the group;
(h) To maintain overview project plans;
(i) The development of a project execution plan;
(j) To develop, maintain and action a area Project Risk Register
(k) To manage the project change processes
(l) To work with commercial to ensure all costs (operating and capex) are captured for rate and bid submissions;
(m) Co-ordination of Quality Assurance, Safety, Environmental, training policies, standards, procedures and practices within project;
(n) Work with Area GSM and country teams to select and manage appropriate vendors;
(o) Issue regular management updates to ensure project plans, budgets are tracked and clearly visible;
(p) Co ordinate activities within the project to ensure budget and schedule is achieved, developing imaginative strategies to deliver;
(q) Hold teleconferences to ensure all parties within the project are working together;
(r) Maintain a high level project file containing relevant bid data, budgets, performance against budget, capex budgets and actuals, schedules and performance against schedule, up man plans
(s) To ensure various groups follow Group policies and standards;
(t) To ensure groups maintain documentation and certification as per company, client, regulator and industry requirements;
(u) Ensure appropriate management of change processes are in place and in use;
(v) Carry out post project reviews providing recommendations and proper project closeout;
(w) Recognise success;
(x) Encourage good working relationships with and between all personnel, sub contractors and third parties.

(a) Familiar with Company Safety Policy and HSE Standards and ensure standards applied and tools are used;
(b) Ensure safe working practices and conditions on and offsite;
(c) Act as an exemplary safety leader.

(a) Responsible for delivering overall projects under budget;
(b) Work closely with various groups to optimise cost and where required find alternative solutions to remain within budget;
(c) Fully understand bid models and contract economics to ensure implications for project phase are understood;
(d) Provide management reports on cost against operating and capex budgets
(e) Work closely with Area Regional Controller to ensure accounting of costs is accurate.

Business Development
(a) Act as ambassador in any contact with clients and suppliers;

Departmental Development
(a) Work closely with Head of Projects within the project community to develop peers;
(b) Coach operations teams in project management skills.

Systems and Processes
(a) Where required as Action Party, close out corrective / preventive in a timely manner.
(b) Ensure development/implementation of policies, standards, procedures and processes to ensure a degree of standardisation.
(c) Assess the effectiveness of Health, Safety and Env or QA activities, systems and identify changes/improvements.

(a) Assess and feedback competence of various groups to effectively deliver overall project requirements

Ensure compliance to all relevant Company management systems and where applicable client procedures.
