The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
My client is looking for a Customer facing project manager to lead a project or multiple smaller projects. You will be required to lead a team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, to budget & to specification.

Key Tasks:

• Responsible for project performance objectives to include: Commercial; Gross Margin, cash flow, risk management, value growth
• Schedule; on time performance and resource usage
• Customer satisfaction; relationship management, repeat business, meeting/exceeding expectation levels
• Management of all project activities as a result of leadership and delegation to direct reports and directly assigned resources (project team) and subcontract services (internal & external)
• Accurate and timely maintenance of Project Accounting records and cost forecasts.
• Support estimating and quotation activity
• Member of project pursuit/project capture team(s) as assigned
• Responsible for ensuring the Health and Safety compliance of work carried out on the project
• Manage the development of direct reports, take an active role in any new appointments to the team. Participate in the appraisal process for subordinates.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Technical ability to maintain customer credibility and build empathy. May have an area of specialist technical or industry knowledge
• Group Leadership - Interpersonal skills to guide a team with a common task or objective towards a successful conclusion. Facilitates open communication, group cohesiveness and co-operation.
• Positive and creative approach to problem solving.
• Project Planning – The management of a specific brief that has laid down criteria in terms of; end results, time allocated, budgets and specific deliverables.
• Delegation and Follow Up - Allocating decisions and tasks to appropriate subordinates and peers, utilising their skills and potential effectively. Effective monitoring.
• Decisiveness - Readiness to make decisions, render judgements and take action both personally and on behalf of the Company. Prepared to justify decisions or alter decisions in the light of new information ar changing circumstances.
