The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide.

The Role:
Our client is planning for a terminal shutdown in 2014 to install additional isolation valves and carry out major overhaul on a number of existing valves.
They require an Engineering Manager for a minimum period of 3 months for the first phase of the defining the modifications. Further work may be needed at the completion of the “define” phase of the Project.


The primary purpose of this job is to review the installation of additional valves as identified by our clients operations team, specify the type of valves and piping modifications needed to install the valve and help complete the scope and relevant studies for installation during a shutdown in 2014.
The Engineering Manager will be expected to manage project activities to the clients satisfaction, within the established budget and schedule in order to deliver to completion.

Job Scope:

• Develop specification, requisitions, technical bid analysis and vendor reviews for all piping and valve modifications.
• Develop cost estimate and schedule for the piping and valves modifications.
• Oversee the specialist studies, if needed, for the piping and valve modifications.
• Organise and recommend additional studies associated with surge analysis, controllability and ensuring systems such as pipe support are correctly designed and engineered for the proposed modifications.
• Oversee and co-ordinate safety studies needed for design and execution of modifications.
• To assist shutdown manager in developing scope of work and invitation to tender for the execution of modifications in 2014 shutdown.
• To assist shutdown manager in developing the scope of work for the valve repairs/overhaul.
• Identify the spares needed for the overhaul of valves and prepare purchase requisition for all such spares.
• Ensuring each stage of the project is progressing on time, on budget and to the right quality
• Reporting regularly to Dragon Shutdown Manager on the progress and issues.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Accredited Engineering Degree, preferably a Chartered Mechanical Engineer.
• Familiar with the piping/valve codes and standards.
• Broad technical knowledge of design engineering process for piping and valves.
• Good understanding of cryogenic services associated with a LNG terminal
• Proven track record on engineering studies associated with valve installation and overhaul
• Ability to specify and select appropriate valves and equipment
• Ability to contribute to HAZOPs where required
• Excellent safety record within an engineering environment
• Good understanding of P & IDs and Isometric drawings
