The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for a Project Manager to join the Power Systems Division, to manage the planning, organising and management of all aspects associated with the assigned PS projects, ensuring successful execution of contracts for Power Systems projects during all stages of the project life cycle in accordance with policies and guidelines on HS&E, Project Management, Quality Systems and Customer Focus

The position of Project Manager will be have a variety or responsibilities including, but not limited to:
• Plan, organise and manage all aspects associated with PS projects
• Implement procedures for order set up, equipment ordering/expediting, progress payments, project insurances, project meetings, site set-up, sub-contractor payments, variation orders, invoicing etc
• Understand and utilise all technical documents and project programme tools associated with PS projects
• Carry out risk assessments and Safety Observational Tours
• Ensure quality assurance policies and procedures are followed
• Hold regular project meetings and produce accurate project reports
• Produce and review technical drawings when required
• Co-ordinate Factory Acceptance Tests and attend same
• Co-ordinate site civil work, equipment installation and commissioning
• Represent all correspondence and meetings with the customer / sub-contractor
• Coordinate Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental policies with the responsible site personnel
• Ensure all activities are properly coordinated with the clients programme
• Compile project files and handover O&M files to client on project completion
• Ensure projects are executed within the established time and estimated costs
• Responsible for communication and reporting to customers as well as other internal and external project stakeholders
• Ensure efficient cooperation and communication within the BU (Design, project, supply management & quality control dept.)
• Ensure delivering the products according to standard and customer specifications

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Relevant experience in installation of MV/HV Substations including Switchgears, Control & Protection Panels, LV Panels, Cabling etc
• Excellent organisational and co-ordination skills with the ability to prioritise and manage peaks in workload
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with ABB employees in a professional manner, both in person and via telephone, and a strong focus on managing customer relationships
• Extremely detail conscious and numerate
• Excellent administration skills
• Excellent Information Technology skills (inc. knowledge of MS Office, Lotus Notes, SAP, MS Project, CAD etc.)
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Good knowledge of Project scheduling, planning, estimation, procurement & cost control
