The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
The main role outline is to provide a high quality project management service for larger drive, power electronic and multiple product and business group orders.

Managing projects within the drives and controls department; involving acceptance of order, booking of order, placing of purchase orders, management of project timescale and budget through to conclusion. Managing all stakeholders in the project.

To take commercial responsibility for each project ensuring all local and group directives are adhered to, all project targets are accomplished or exceeded and stakeholder relationships are maintained or improved.

• To ensure all contracts are completed successfully to agreed time/cost/scope targets to satisfaction of both customer and the client
• Support sales, tendering and management in commercial matters.
• Reviewing and negotiating customer terms and conditions where appropriate.
• Ensure full & accurate handover of all contracts between tendering, engineering and contracts departments in regard but not limited to; commercial, financial, technical matters.
• Ensure compliance with the client group directives, local legislation and work instructions (e.g. risk review process, sensitive countries / industries / contractual terms)
• Successfully mediate and resolve disputes between the client and their customers or suppliers.
• Track margin and cash flow through the course of the contract to ensure cash flow is positive and margin does not erode and report any instances where this occurs.
• Ensure revenue targets are met, and margin is enhanced wherever possible but not at the expense of long term customer and supplier relationships.
• Keep accurate and detailed files (paper and electronic) for each contract including H&S documentation, Quality documentation, change orders and compensation event logs etc.
• Support other team members contracts in their absence
• Travel to customer and supplier sites to carry out site inspections, oversee site work and attend factory witness tests both in the UK and aboard when required.
• Willingness to further both knowledge acquisition and certification in engineering and contract management disciplines.
• Manage own work load and time management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Proven track record of running successful projects in the electrical / construction / Oil and Gas industry is essential
Commercial knowledge i.e. Contract law, terms and conditions etc.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and take the initiative.
Confidence to make decisions and take responsibility for projects.
Understanding of project finance, cash flows etc.
Management of remote/site work teams

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Project management qualifications – e.g. PMI or Prince
Higher level engineering qualification (e.g. ONC, HNC, HND or degree); preferably electrical.
Basic working knowledge of variable speed drives, transformers, motors, switchgear and associated equipment.
Proven record in dispute resolution
Supply chain management experience/qualifications
