The Company:
My Client a major Operator in Romania is currently looking for Project Manager to join their team of professionals.

The Role:
Main Responsibilities:

Provides leadership, resources, and targets for a project with complete responsibility.
Deliver Project within schedule and budget while adhering to Company's business practices, environmental and construction safety guidelines.

Planning and Forecasting Duties:

• Ensure that the Project Assignment is complete and approved.
• Take responsibility for the preparation, review and approval of key project documents such as Scope of Work (SoW), Basis of Design (BoD), Project Execution Plan (PEP), Project contracting strategy, etc.
• Review day-to-day activities of the engineering firm(s), contractor(s) and supplier(s) assigned to the work in meeting business objectives consistent with the agreed-upon project execution strategy and project programme execution plan.
• Responsible for authorizing work to contractor(s) involved in the execution of the assigned work and to liaise with concerned departments, Operating Areas and Regions as appropriate, to represent key interests incl. periodic reviews, ensuring technical integrity and compatibility, addressing operational needs, and final knowledge transfer to the end user.
• Monitor schedule performance of the contractors and if necessary recommend corrective measures to assure timely completion.
• Full responsibility for the Project’s budget.
• Managing the project variance and trend process (eg budget Vs spent analysis), project forecast etc.
• Provide event oriented reconciliation and issue monthly cost report to Regional Management and Director HSE Department, Company Head Quarters and Operating Areas.
• Forecasting final project cost outcome on a monthly basis.
Industry Knowledge:

• Keep continuously updated on developments and new technologies and share best practices or any industry knowledge.
• Keep continuously updated on service contractor and equipment/material supply markets.
Organizational Duties:

• Arrange the Project team into appropriate work groups and assign the relevant work packages.
• Assure the necessary administrative procedures within the project team and keep the project documentation system updated.
• Participating in contractor evaluation, selection, and negotiation process.
• Responsible for the commercial and management administration of the Contract(s).
• Serving as primary contact for all Company’s departments and Engineering firms, Contractors and Suppliers associated with the Project.
• Assuring that the project is implemented in accordance with execution plan and in accordance with approved Project Procedures.
• Ensuring that assessment and management of risk is made to project strategies and plans.
• Accounting for project controls and ensuring timely Project reviews i.e. Tollgates, PHSERs, Hazop etc.
• Assuring that changes to tasks / project activities are communicated and documented with the Contractor(s).
• Participating in contractor evaluation and selection process.
• Assuring the Management of Change process is implemented.
• Accountable for safe completion of the Project .
• Responsible for implementation of Company quality assurance and verification plan in engineering, procurement and construction work.

Coordination Duties:

• Coordinate and participate in the selection and assessment of contractors through the preparation of project Scope of Work, (SOW) and submission through approval process.
• Coordinating and participating in the development of project designs and specifications.
• Coordinating resolution of design deficiencies and/or vendor warranty issues.
• Participating in all construction activities in the field execution of the projects in accordance with the established field execution strategy.
• Ensure that common standards and specifications are applied throughout programme projects.
Reporting Duties:

• Reports to lie manager.
• Managing the project variances and trend process (Cost, Schedule, and Scope).
• Forecast and track progress, cost vs. schedule and budget.
People Development:

• Support the Project personnel in the execution of the work to achieve the project objectives and produce deliverables within the specified time frames.
• Promoting ideas to improve project performance.
• Assist Projects Department in training of Project team members.


• To ascertain and respect the legislation’s provisions in the field of health and security at work, protection against fire and civil protection as long as their implementation measures.
• To use the equipment of the current and protection activity according to the technical instructions.
• Not affect the good functioning, not alter, change or arbitrary remove the security devices in the building where he/she is working.
• To communicate immediately to the employer and/or assigned employees any situation on which he/she have serious reasons to consider as a danger for the security and health of the employees, as well as any malfunctioning of the protection system.
• To inform the line manager and/or the employer about the accidents suffered.
• To cooperate with the employer and/or assigned employees in order to make possible the implementation of any measures or requirements of the law or related authorities.
• To cooperate with the employer and/or the related authorities in order to allow a work environment and work conditions without risks for security and health.
• To act, according to the procedures established at the work place, in case of occurrence of any imminent fire danger or other emergency situation.
• To provide to assign persons all known data and information concerning occurred work accidents and/or fires.

To the above mentioned responsibilities it is possible that some others (related to the job) will be added by your Line Manager, if business will require. In case the changes in the job content are significant, a new Job Description will be prepared by the Line Manager.

Success criteria:

• Meeting pre-set schedule targets;
• Meeting pre-set budget targets;
• Meeting pre-set HSE related targets;
• Adhering to project procedures and ensuring 100% compliance;
• Ensuring common standards and specifications are applied across all Company facilities;

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Job requirements:

- University degree in Engineering and approximately 10 or more years professional experience in a Projects.
- A working knowledge of construction, and/or construction management as well as awareness of environmental practices.
- Ability to lead and work well with a team, capable of building a team and to work with a variety of persons and organizations having diverse issues, concerns and agendas .
