The Role:
Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall delivery and implementation of the Poland project(s), based in Krakow. The role is accountable for all aspects of project delivery from concept development, through various study phases, project execution (engineering, procurement, and construction), commissioning.
The role will be responsible for project health, safety and environmental performance, land access, regulatory relationships and construction management. The incumbent will be responsible for putting together the project team including resources from within and external to the business. The project team may include the operations team as well as the project delivery team.
The Project Manager will be responsible, through working with other COMPANY functional managers, for ensuring that project systems are in place to ensure effective project delivery and outcomes consistent with project objectives.
Specifically, the accountabilities of the Project Manager will include:
- Planning, execution and reporting on the project scope, tasks, budget and schedule.
- Co-ordinating the multi-disciplinary project team and ensuring that tasks are resourced, planned and performed in accordance with the project plan. The project team is situated in Poland and Brisbane and may include consultants.
- Managing the execution of the work to ensure delivery of the project(s) on budget and schedule, including meeting deadlines and milestones defined for the project by the business or the project director.
- Identifying and selecting suitable contractors, and work with contracts department on the execution of tenders and contracts. Procurement & Contracts activities will be performed by COMPANY in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Managing the health and safety of employees and contractors during project works in accordance with COMPANY health and safety requirements.
- Securing where required any necessary local, government or landholder approvals and/or ensuring that all work is carried out within the scope of any relevant approvals.
- Providing timely progress and other reporting in accordance with COMPANY requirements.
- Where required, manage sensitively any joint venture or other relationships.

Tasks / Responsibilities:

- Overall project management of the project from study phase through execution to handover to operations.
- Planning, execution and reporting on the project scope, tasks, budget and schedule.
- Managing the execution of the work including identifying and allocating appropriate resources to ensure delivery of projects on budget and schedule.
- Identifying and managing suitable contractors.
- Managing the engineering, procurement and construction for the project.
- Managing the health and safety of employees and contractors during project works in accordance with COMPANY health and safety requirements.
- Progress reporting on various forums such as steering committees, business meetings, progress reports, and Metrics, etc
- Interface with Business and Operations regarding their business plans, execution of all projects, scheduling, budget control and quality. Single point of communication.
- Ensuring project scope and standards meeting operational and business requirements.
- Securing where required any necessary local, government or landholder approvals and/or ensuring that all work is carried out within the scope of any relevant approvals.
- Providing timely progress and other reporting in accordance with COMPANY requirements.
- Where required, manage sensitively any joint venture or other relationships.
- Resourcing the project and providing input into operational organisations as required.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with Business and Operations partners

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Mining or related engineering discipline
• Post graduate certification in project management and/or management would be well regarded
• Proficient in MS Office suite including Microsoft Project and SharePoint

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Significant experience as a Project Manager, ideally on Greenfield gas or mining projects at study phase.
- Ability to lead and co-ordinate virtual teams.
- Experience in managing the execution of projects larger than $50M in the petrochemical, oil and gas and allied industries.
- Practical experience in health, safety and environment management.
- Exposure in contract negotiation and management.
- Understanding of project management systems and processes required for the successful delivery of projects.
- Experience in establishing project scopes, budgets and schedules.
- Experience in measuring and report progress against key parameters including budget and schedule.
- Familiarity with drilling operations and well completion.
- Experience with engineering, procurement and construction of above ground facilities.
- Understanding of international engineering and industry standards.
