The Role:
Information Management forms part of the Project Services core discipline, and covers the data, documents and models covered by each Project’s scope. A key success factor for Projects is the effective management of the information they generate, collect and transfer. The final IM objective of all projects is the delivery of a complete, accurate and operational digital asset, enabling rapid start-up and efficient transition to Operations.

Project Information Management involves key stakeholders throughout project lifecycle in delivering timely and accurate information to Construction, Commissioning, Operations, direct suppliers, 3rd party verification amongst others to improve project performance and overall success criteria.

Liaison with the Functional Information Manager to provide consistency throughout the GPO in delivery of Information Management requirements.

Whilst based in Glasgow, the role will require some travel to site at Grangemouth to establish operational requirements and how these may need to be assessed prior to normalisation within the project.

Information Manager is accountable for the following:
•Inputting to and influencing contracting strategy and contractor/supplier selection;
•Give direction to the Contractors Information Management team.
•Documenting and communicating the IM strategy and plans to contractors and suppliers, reviewing and auditing Contractors against delivery of the Information Management Requirements
•The PIM Lead will create and own all key documents required in service of the GPO Project Information Management Procedure, (GPO-PC-PRO-0008) e.g.
oThe Project Information Management Implementation Plan
oInformation Handover Specification
oDocument and Tag numbering Systems
•Be able to interact with contractor and other third party organisations and create Project specific solutions that satisfy GPO standards
•Connect with the Global Projects Organisation PIM Community of Practice to obtain and provide support, feedback, peer reviews, lessons learned etc.
•Assess the condition of existing information for Brownfield scopes and making appropriate provision where necessary.
•Ensuring Information Integrity is maintained throughout Brownfield modifications, identifying the process to control release and adequately notify interested parties.
•Ensuring that everyone is aware of the importance of Information to the project, and their role in providing it;
•Use the brownfield project as a wider remit to refresh the information standards within the whole asset.
•Ensuring processes, including Data validation, are in place to achieve data accuracy and where appropriate ties in correctly to the asset model (e.g. 3D platform model for instance).
•Working with IT delivery team(s) to ensure that the right systems are specified, delivered and used to support the PIM effort.
•Working with Engineering, Commissioning and others to ensure that information is received in a timely manner and is appropriately handled returned including monitoring of as-built process.
•Input to and operation of a Concurrent Engineering Procedure to ensure that information integrity and ownership are maintained throughout the project.
•Monitoring contractor information managers and document and data controllers to ensure that they have processes and procedures in place to maintain the quality of information in their systems.
•Preparing relevant management reports using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Demonstrable previous Project Experience working in Information Management on large oil and gas projects: conversant with the wider information set (data, documents, models) and its use in managing projects through the whole project lifecycle.

Brownfield or Operations Information Management experience.

Be well versed in data, document and model management through project lifecycle, especially Brownfield Projects.

Preferably have an Engineering background or a deep appreciation of engineering within Major Projects

Be conversant with the use of information related IT systems on Major Projects

Be able to communicate clearly at all levels of the organisation, and influence people outside his or her team

Excellent communication and influencing skills, across the whole project irrespective of seniority, organisational or contractual boundaries.
