The Company:
Our Client is one of the UK's leading suppliers of instrumentation for a diverse range of applications in the nuclear industry.

The Role:
Responsible for managing all aspects of the delivery of projects ranging approximately in value from £50,000 to £1,500,000. The projects will mainly be associated with the development and supply of nuclear instrumentation for radiation measurement or protection purposes.

• Specific ability to build optimal project plans in MS Project based on tasks defined by the team
• Financial management using percentage of completion methodology and QA to ISO 9001
• PMP,Prince 2 or other recognised PM qualification
• Working Knowledge of NEC3, FIDIC and/or other Contract forms
• SAP R/3 Project System competence
• Problem solving

• Competence in mechanical or other engineering discipline would be particularly welcome.

• Manage Bids and/or work with Sales and Technical Staff to help secure opportunities and estimate costs on potential orders (Offers).
• Working closely with engineering staff to define the project programmes and resources to meet the customer’s requirements.
• Working with Technical Staff and Sub-contractors to meet the project and quality programme and the customer’s specification.
• Monitoring and forecasting project performance including invoicing, resource requirements and completion costs.
• Working closely and negotiating with customers to ensure completion of projects to agreed specifications and timescales especially in response to changes or delays.
• To lead project teams (resourced from the engineering pool) to successfully deliver a portfolio of projects to safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives agreed at the bid phase.
• Controlling the overall project to ensure that forecast performance is achieved or bettered.

Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes used and following a path of self-development to enhance the repeatability of excellence in project performance
