The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
Main Purpose of Job:
* To lead, direct and strategise one or a number of multi-disciplinary teams delivering multi million pound projects such that the customer's requirements are delivered and performance and profit margins are met
* To meet time cost and quality requirements
* To deliver the Project Safety.

Position in organisation :
* Reports directly to Divisional Director / Operations Manager
* Directly supervises project teams, comprising both internal personnel and external contractor resources
* Communicates effectively with all project stakeholders, especially client representative
* Accountable for Project Financial Performance.

Key Accountabilities:
* Prepares and approves proposals and specifications
* Launches the project and establishes effective communication routes
* Monitors and controls project costs, resources and programme
* Ensures relevant technical solutions are applied
* Supervises project team to maintain required standards of quality and safety
* Assess and mitigates project risks.

Delegated and Financial Authority:
* Can control projects up to £10m
* Work is developed from successful reply to an ITT or result of direct request from client
* Work is formally reviewed on a monthly basis by Divisional Director / Operations Manager
* Responsible for formulating project programme and driving project team to comply
* Responsible for relationship with customer, and overall project safety

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Knowledge and qualification in a vocational or specialised field short of a Degree Level e.g. HNC/HND, Degree qualified
* A full UK driver's license
* Demonstrable experience in Engineering in Project delivery, with significant demonstrable competence gained in a project management position
* Leadership/People management skills, Stakeholder management, Communication skills at all levels across the business, Motivational and astute and unfazed at working to tight deadlines. Client focused.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* CEng
* Sub-contractor and management experience
