The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experiences engineering professionals.

The Role:
As a manager of the Manufacturing Engineering team you will lead a team of 10 – 20 staff to plan and manage the manufacturing process and tooling. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and the wider Manufacturing Engineering group to ensure that activities are fully defined, resourced and tracked through to completion. This is a challenging and demanding role requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to simultaneously manage numerous project deliverables.
Establish the resources and strategy required to achieve departmental objectives.
Manage project reviews to track progress against agreed timelines and ensure successful delivery of all deliverables.
Establish and lead working groups with the manufacturing teams to develop appropriate manufacturing plans to support robust and efficient improvement activities.
Coaching of the wider Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure robust plans are in place, targets are defined and timely progress achieved.
Maintain project documentation (12-panels, project plans etc).
Present project status to senior teams as required including Start Up, Senior review meetings etc.
Work with equipment/tooling suppliers to ensure the best practical solutions at competitive prices with appropriate service agreements.
Ensure that all current HR and visual management procedures are upheld.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
ONC minimum qualification with HNC / Degree preferred (or equivalent).
The successful candidate will ideally have Lean Manufacturing experience across a broad range of manufacturing disciplines and an in depth understanding of Manufacturing Engineering systems and procedures.
An understanding of competitor manufacturers’ assembly techniques and processes would be beneficial, as would supervisory experience.
