The Role:
The constantly expanding nature of the HSEQ process safety agenda requires this dedicated resource to support implementation of policy, standards and processes within Distributed Energy & Power (DE&P) through the development of our process safety assurance programmes and reporting systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
•Delivering elements of the DE&P Process Safety Plan for 2016/7 with specific focus on the reporting work stream
•Ensuring the highest possible standard of advice is provided to the DE&P management teams to enable them to establish themselves as industry leaders.
•Providing process safety assurance through development of reporting systems
•Lead our project team in a collaborative approach to successful solution delivery including the use of reports in governance activities in the assets
•Providing visible engagement with operational excellence and IS teams to ensure they have suitable delivery plans, effective resources to deliver the MAH dashboard project.
•Promoting continual improvements to the reporting systems wherever these will add value and improve reporting efficiency with supply partners and other stakeholders.
•Supporting the development and maintenance of process safety governance information within the Business Management System (BMS).

Key Accountabilities:
•Work with peers in other disciplines to ensure coherent and integrated systems are created to avoid unnecessary duplication / dissipation of effort through effective design, implementation and continual improvement of systems and processes.
•Lead the development & review of DE&P process safety reporting dashboard, including monitoring of inherent and emerging trends – identify potential and future risks and liaise with asset managers to ensure key risks are mitigated.
•Establish agreed audit programmes for checking compliance of the process safety reporting systems – lead/participate in selected audits to verify compliance.
•Work with Risk Assurance & Process Safety Manager to align DE&P risk and assurance programmes with wider company requirements.
•Liaise with Power O+M and Engineering teams on development of process safety performance indicators; incorporate these indicators into the reporting systems.
•Support DE&P teams with relevant process safety assessments, e.g. HAZOPs, PHRs, DSEAR reviews, Bow-tie major accident hazard analysis.
•Support the DE&PLT in (selected) key business activities, e.g. BMS development; dashboard development.
•Manage the delivery of the new PSPI reporting dashboards.
•Identify & monitor internal/external developments in process safety reporting and assess these developments for adoption into DE&P HSE processes to promote improved reporting.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•The role requires experience of working and managing in a matrix organisation.
•The role may suit a professional with an operational, project management or IS project background.
•Previous experience of working with technically qualified HSE, Engineering, O+M and IS professionals would be beneficial.
•This specialist experience will be combined with business systems knowledge in order to be credible with colleagues.
•Ideally IS and/or project management qualifications.
•Power Generation or major accident hazard industry experience
•Previous managerial level appointment in either operational, project or IS role
•Technical competence in process safety & IS integration/project management
•Naturally analytical, curious and reflective
•The ability to look ahead to see potential issues and opportunities
•Passion for solving problems and adding value
•Ability to be pragmatic and practical in solving issues
