The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
APC PED is part of the advanced engineering vehicle team responsible for managing the initial delivery of performance, fuel economy (CO2) and driveability attributes. As a PED PAT Leader [Performance-Economy-Driveability Performance-Attribute-Team] your responsibilities will include [but are not limited to] the following:
(1) Managing all aspects of vehicle performance, fuel economy and driveability attribute delivery on one or several model year programmes.
(2) Synthesising 'balanced' attribute targets, taking into consideration the legislative & competitive landscapes
(3) Defining the hardware 'blocks' to meet said targets [will involve liaison with PiVa; in-house vehicle simulation team
(4) Supporting compliance / portfolio planning teams with forecast CO2 data
(5) Conducting 'What-if' CO2 PT studies in support of Marketing/Brand team requests.
(6) Supporting vehicle level virtual assessments to ensure programme targets are met
(7) Liaison with key interfacing departments where required
(8) Initiating vehicle level objective benchmark activities on the clients and competitors vehicles
(9) Generating presentations [evidence based] to support related gateway submissions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent project management, organisational, presentation and communication skills
A proactive and tenacious approach and the ability to work effectively with many different teams and individuals
Good problem solving and data analysis skills using Excel and dedicated tools Knowledge and understanding in vehicle & engine performance/economy development and EMS/Transmission calibration
Good knowledge of MS office applications (incl Powerpoint)
Experience or awareness of PED attribute development, track or chassis dyno vehicle testing or attribute related EMS/Trans/Vehicle calibration
Experience in data processing, manipulation and graphical presentation and an interest and willingness to develop these skills further
An interest and awareness of a competitive environment, particularly in relation to the PED Attributes [CO2 cmpetitive Futuring]
Experience in presenting data and information clearly in large forums with Senior Management
A background or some demonstrable expe

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
An understanding of 6-sigma tools and experience in applying them in the analysis of test data.
An understanding or appreciation of CAE tools in particular related to FE/CO2 or emissions prediction would be of benefit Expert in data processing/manipulation [expert user in Excel would be advantageous; Ability to author Visual Basic scripts etc]
An awareness of Product Creation Systems [old speak 'GPDS'] and Verification/Requiements Tracking Systems (eFDVS, RMDV, TCSE, PQMS)
Experience with hybrid vehicles testing, attribute development, calibration, etc Experience in emissions, CO2 or driveability related vehicle testing/assessment Adept at data farming, intelligence gathering & consolidating large quantities of data into a manageable form
