The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:
Project Manager for the D7u Programme Management team Reporting to the Project/Programme Manager, the primary role will be to lead and support programme team members and functional representatives in the planning, co-ordination, approval, reporting and delivery of all programme activities.

• Prepare papers / presentations for various management reviews, including Gateway, Product Committee, BPR, PIR and VLBR.
• Co-ordinate the weekly Programme Steering Team and drive the team in the use of i-3 to manage the completion of deliverables for programme milestone approvals.
• Represent the programme team in CMM meetings, driving and reporting the status of releases.
• Support prototype build planning and lead the BoM validation of prototype and pre-production builds in conjunction with Engineering and Manufacturing team members.
• Author product letters (PDLs) as required. Manage responses and resolve issues leading to PDL approval. Maintain and communicate accurate programme assumptions between issues of the PDL.
• Use of the PACN process to manage programme change
• Lead complexity reviews with Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing and Finance and identify opportunities to reduce cost and increase revenue. • Support the Feature Change Implementation Meeting (FCIM), tracking actions through the e-tracker system and reporting status to VLBR / LMM as appropriate.
• Coordination of team communications & special events.

Skills Required:
• An understanding of PD processes and programme delivery principles are essential.
• Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a 'passion for the product' are personal qualities needed to succeed in this environment, being self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
• A good working knowledge of Change Control, Product Definition and Change Management processes are desirable, in order to support the review and approval of feasible product actions, and so ensure robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to production.
• Previous experience within Programmes, Core Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Launch experience are considered desirable, with a good knowledge of Product Development processes and PCS.
• Good IT skills and be fluent in Power Point and Excel.

Skills Preferred:
• Hold a current Driving Licence to enable frequent interplant travel.

Experience Required:
• Experience of project management, ideally within automotive industry.

Education Required:
• Ideally qualified to degree level in either an Engineering or Business discipline.
