The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Senior Project Manager will take full responsibility for the successful and safe execution of Power Systems rail projects to budget and programme.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
• Motivate a multi-disciplinary project team (including resources from Project Management, Engineering, Planning and Commercial, Civil and Construction, Quality HSE, Supply Chain and Technology functions) with the support of the Operations Manager to deliver projects professional and to time and budget.
• Provide strategic support to the Operations Manager in the development of the department to secure major projects and retain key staff.
• Chair key weekly/fortnightly meetings (PTPR) with project managers, engineering etc, to ensure each live project is being supported adequately and provide feedback to the Operations Manager.
• Provide support to the Operations Manager in the interviewing and selection of new staff to the team.
• Supporting Tendering in the order pursuit process (helping to develop capture and execution strategy) - achieve clarity of expectation throughout the process.
• Following successful order capture, take on full responsibility for the safe on-time and to-budget delivery of the project deliverables.
• Develop a detailed understanding of the scope of work and the commercial, contractual and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements and implications.
• Promote Health & Safety as the No 1 topic with all Project Managers and Site Managers, including the carrying out of monthly H&S tours to the live project locations.
• Manage changes in the scope (and the associated commercial aspects with the Commercial Manager) driven by the client, internally or the supply chain.
• Represent all key project delivery meetings i.e. the principle point of contact with the client for this contract.
• Manage the financial and commercial aspects of the project(s) with the Commercial Manager including working with the Project Managers on the reporting of current and forecast financial status, risks and opportunity and project cash flow.
• Deputise for the Operations Manager at key Senior Client Meetings or internal team meetings should the need arise

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
5 Years+ Project Manager experience
Ideally experience in rail, London Underground, or power / transmission & distribution.
