The Role:
Only candidates who already have the rights to work in Azerbaijan will be considered for this role

• Maintain awareness of, and promote, project goals in respect of HS&E, QA, schedule and technical integrity, including participation in regular audit activities
• Ensuring that Shipyard QHSE standards are maintained, monitored and make suggestions for improvement in accordance with client's expectations
• Implementation and monitoring of the shipbuilding contract, monitoring and reporting of any deviations that may risk the project delivery
• Ensuring that the shipyard project execution plan is implemented and monitored and make suggestions for improvement, including regular reviews to ensure suitability
• Ensuring the successful completion of the SCV in accordance with the client schedules in readiness for the execution of the project SCV SoW.
• Ensuring that the design meets the expectations of the installation criteria
• Ensuring that the installation teams/contractor are kept informed of any design changes that may affect installation criteria
• Monitoring the results and progress of the activities and reports of the site (discipline) manager(s)/inspectors
• Ensure that the vessel is constructed in accordance with flag state, classification society rules for the building of ships and any other associated industry requirements (IMCA) and client's ETP’s as required.
• Making it a priority to maintain a good working relationship with the Shipyard and Contractor project and senior management members
• Reporting the results of site team members on a regular basis to the client's M&S PGM
• Chairing monthly project meetings with the client PGM, Contracts Manager and Subsea Manager to discuss the progress, results and issues reported by site supervision team
• Make recommendations to the client PGM to ensure the project remains on schedule/budget as appropriate
• Cooperating closely with the client site team members, the client Construction Manager and the Yard’s Project Manager
• Ensure that the work and social ethics on all aspects of the project adhere to the client and internationally accepted standards
• Attending/chairing project meetings as and when circumstances require
• Establishing and maintaining regular contact with the Shipyards Project Managers and other representatives
• Reporting all project related information to the client's M&S PGM
• Supervising the Shipyard’s vessel construction activities in close cooperation with the Yard’s site Construction Manager
• Taking a leading role in managing and monitoring the members of the site team on all relevant social, ethical and work related aspects
• Chairing a weekly project meeting on site in which all project aspects will be discussed and minutes of and attendee list will be distributed
• Chairing Shipyard project meetings concerning procurement, finance and construction progress against schedule, construction quality and HSE issues.
• Monitoring and reporting on any budget that has been assigned to the project
• Monitoring and reporting on the main construction schedule
• Assisting in the preparation and execution of contingency or construction recovery plan(s) in the event of schedule slippage
• Monitoring and reporting whether inspections are carried out properly and according to Class/Company standards
• Monitoring and reporting construction compliance with the main specification, drawings, QHSE guidelines and Classification Society rules and regulations.
• Preparing detailed project progress reports at regular intervals and distributing them to project relevant client's management
• Liaising with the shipyard and coordinating technical and contractual/commercial matters
• Cooperating closely with the HSE inspector, site project engineer and inspectors
• Work in conjunction with the Contracts Manager to ensure strict adherence to the vessel build contract and Issue on-site contract letters after approval from the SD2 PGM
• The above responsibilities apply to both the Singapore Shipyard and the Baku Shipyard (BSY)
• Making regular inspections of the construction worksite to verify reports/actual progress and to lead HSE expectations – Baku and Singapore yards.
• Attend FAT/SiT’s as may be required.
• Provide support during the transition period to the SD2 contractor and additionally provide technical support during the first year of operations.
2014 Deliverables:
• Engage with BSY and support client PSCM to complete signing of the shipyard new-build contract
• Confirm contract, technical specifications and GA drawing meet SD2 requirements
• Complete organisation and personnel implementation plans - implement team
• Maintain build schedule in accordance with contract and SD2 requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Project management in vessel new builds/upgrades/conversions - senior position (Project Manager/Director)
• 20+ years DP/DSV and offshore vessel experience including air/sat diving, subsea construction/installation experience.
• DP vessel operations and project offshore execution management experience
• Track record in HSSE leadership
• Excellent Communication skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
