The Company:
Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
The role of the Project Marine Advisor - Mission Systems is to provide assurance for specific mission systems during the specification, design, construction and installation of the systems on marine vessels.

The Project Marine Advisor - Mission Systems will participate in the technical evaluation of all mission systems, assure the construction of the Dive System at the manufacturers site and stand by in the shipyard during the installation and commisioning of the dive system and cranes.

The Project Marine Advisor - Mission Systems is responsible for reviewing contract specification against the Basis of Design, performing design reviews and plan approval and the monitoring and inspection of the construction, assembly, installation and testing of all mission systems to ensure compliance with the Time Charter Party, Contract Specification, approved drawings and good industry practice.

1.To review bid documentation against the agreed Basis of Design and Standards and to participate in the technical evaluation team.

2.To perform design review and plan approval for conformance with the Contract Specification and industry Standards

3.To monitor and inspect the construction, assembly, erection and outfitting of the Dive Systems and Offshore Cranes by means of formal inspections and ad hoc patrol inspections in order to ensure that the systems are constructed and outfitted in accordance with the Contract Specification, Approved Drawings and to the agreed Quality Plan.

4.To report regularly, formally and informally, to the Project Marine Authority, Regional Lifting and Regional Diving Authorities any deviations from the Approved Drawings, Contract Specification or agreed standards. To report any defects or problems which may affect the delivery or finished standard, including certification of the vessels.

5.To develop and maintain a relationship of cooperation and mutual respect with the Owners, Equipment Manufacturers and Shipyard representatives. To be the main point of contact for mission system issues related to the construction, installation and testing of these systems.To liaise with representatives of appropriate shipyard departments to discuss problems and recommend remedial action where standards are in question or where defects have been identified.

6.To maintain clear and comprehensive records of all tests and inspections on a centralised database in accordance with the project document management procedures.

7.To conduct an effective Management of Change process including comprehensive hand over notes to ensure continuity and full visibility of role prior to any period of leave or extended period of absence from the Project and Site Teams.

8.To supervise Inspectors and specialist contractors as assigned by the Project Marine Authority.

9.To work safely and to be intolerant of unsafe acts or conditions. To promote good HSSE behaviours and to stop and report any unsafe acts. To liase with the HSSE Superintendent / Inspector and report any unsafe conditions.

10.To review and approve shipyard/ dive system manufaturer and crane manufacturers plans and drawings.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering Degree or Class 1 Certificate of competence
•Experience of the construction and installation of Diving Systems and offshore cranes
•Extensive knowledge of and previous experience of design, procurement, fabrication, construction, testing regimes, precommissioning, commissioning and certification of dive systems and cranes.
•Ability to work independently whilst still maintaining contact with the wider team
•Shipyard, Class or consultancy experience, eg. Construction Site Personnel, Design Review, Classification Society Surveyor or experience conducting assessments for vessel conversions. damages.
•Membership of professional body, e.g. IMarEST, RINA, SNAME
