The Company:
Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Marine Advisor - Electrical to provide assurance for the electrical, naviagational, communications and control systems during the design and construction of marine vessels.

The Project Marine Advisor - Electrical is responsible for reviewing contract specification against the Basia of Design, performing design reviews and plan approval and monitoring and inspecting installation, commissioning and testing of all material and equipment associated with the electrical, navigational, communications and control systems to ensure compliance with the Contract Specification, approved drawings and good industry practice.

1.To review bid documentation against the agreed Basis of Design and Client Standards ant to participate in the technical evaluation team.
2.To perform design review and plan approval for conformance with the Contract Specification and Client Standards.
3.To monitor and inspect the construction, installation and preservation of the vessel's electrical, navigational, communication and control equipment and systems by means of formal inspections and ad hoc patrol inspections in order to ensure that the Vessels are constructed and outfitted in accordance with the Contract specification, Approved Drawings and to the agreed Quality Plan.
4.To report regularly, formally and informally, to the Project Marine Authority/ Construction Manager any deviations from the Approved Drawings, Contract Specification or agreed standards. To report any defects or problems which may affect the delivery or finished standard, including certification of the vessels.

5.To develop and maintain a relationship of cooperation and mutual respect with the Owners and Shipyard representatives. To be the main point of contact for electrical, navigational, communication and control system issues related to the construction of the vessels.To liaise with representatives of appropriate shipyard departments to discuss problems and recommend remedial action where standards are in question or where defects have been identified.

6.To witness shop testing of equipment at manufacturers' works and to attend post-test strip-down inspections as appropriate. To attend, witness and accept inspections concerned with the outfitting of the vessels such as installation checks, pre-commissioning, commissioning and sea trials.

7.To maintain clear and comprehensive records of all tests and inspections on a centralised database in accordance with the project document management procedures.
8.To conduct an effective Management of Change process including comprehensive hand over notes to ensure continuity and full visibility of role prior to any period of leave or extended period of absence from the Site Team.
9.To supervise Electrical Inspectors and any Ship's Staff assigned to the Electrical Team for delegation or assistance with any of the aforementioned tasks.
10.To work safely and to be intolerant of unsafe acts or conditions. To promote good HSSE behaviours and to stop and report any unsafe acts. To liase with the HSSE Superintendent / Inspector and report any unsafe conditions.
11.To review and approve shipyard plans and drawings.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent academic qualification.
• Marine technical experience in shipping or ship construction/repair yards
• Previous construction supervision experience as Electrical Inspector or Ship's staff standing by vessels under construction.
• Experience of design, installation or operation of DP systems
• Membership of a professional body, e.g. I.E.T., I.E.E.E, IMarEST

Chartered Engineer/PE/Eur Ing or equivalent
• Previous construction supervision experience as Electrical Superintendent
• Experience of saturation dive systems
