The Company:
A major oil and gas company

The Role:
The project mariner is to provide marine expertise to the project team .They shall ensure vessels are properly assessed, maintained and suitable for the proposed works and marine operations are planned and executed in accordance with project standards. Offshore they shall be nominated as client marine representative.

•To provide marine expertise and input into marine and mubsea work scopes
•To liaise with Company delivery teams to ensure marine requirements and risks are fully understood and addressed.
•To plan vessel requirements in co ordination with:
•Delivery teams
•Vessel operators
•To Assess vessel suitability for work scopes in accordance with project and regional marine standards
•To Manage vessel assurance
•To Monitor vessel performance and conformance to ensure that all relevant requirements are complied with in terms of clients procedures and practices, Classification Society and State Marine Administration requirements
•To Assess and monitor contractor and vessel operator performance
•To Review Marine procedures for the work scopes and ensure contractor provides correctly engineered procedures for the required marine operations in accordance with project marine standards
•To participate in Risk workshops and activities.
•To Co-ordinate with project MWS and Marine Consultants
•To act as BP Marine Representatives for offshore operations
•To Perform regular vessel visits to monitor standards
•To Liaise with vessel Masters
•To Liaise with AGT MA, AGT and GPO Marine community

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Class 1 Master Mariner or Class 1 Engineer certificate
•At least 5 years’ experience of marine operations in offshore industry
•Extensive knowledge of towing and anchor handling operations.
•2 Years’ experience as Marine Warranty surveyor or similar role
•Valid UK Offshore Survival and Medicals.

•DP operator certified
•OVID registered surveyor
