The Company:
Our client is a major Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Company. This position will be working on a variety of Iron Ore Projects and Port Infrastructure Developments.

The Role:
The Project Engineer is to provide competent project support in relation to feasibility and early design development for mechanical and associated systems including conveyors, transfer stations, screening plant, car dumpers, water supply and buildings.

Common Responsibilities
• To live and promote the Project Covenants and Objectives.
• To meet the position Objectives and KPI’s.
• To be personally responsible for ‘Zero Incident & Injuries’.

Specific Responsibilities

• Ensure all mechanical engineering/material handling project work complies with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and practices.
• Prepare preliminary specifications and documentation for all mechanical/material handling engineering project work and ensure project work complies with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works.
• Provide high level technical support for all mechanical engineering project work as required.
• Prepare documentation for standards, procedures, safe working practices and monitoring regimes in respect of work on or around mechanical engineering projects.
• Liaise with other department engineers and draftspersons to ensure project goals are met.
• Provide input to the mechanical engineering budget
• Progress monitoring and reporting.
• Undertake scope control and trending of scope changes as needed
• Meet assigned dates for project deliverables

• Ability to assess project risks and understand associated contingencies

• Understanding of and ability to follow Company & Client policies and procedures
• Strong organisational skills
• Strong report writing skills
• Ability to delegate tasks and communicate
• Understanding HSE regulations and standards

Required:
Tertiary Mechanical engineering qualifications & previous experience on EPCM Projects at feasibility study stage

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
5 - 10 years professional experience
