The Company:
Our client are an Australian based provider of professional engineering and reliable maintenance services.

Their expertise in thermal power generation technology supports infrastructure and maintenance requirements in industries such as power generation, sugar refinery, chemical processing and oil refinery.

The Role:
The primary function of the Project Planner & Scheduler is to support the execution of maintenance / overhaul work by coordinating work orders as per budgeted maintenace plans in conjunction with the Project Team consisting of Senior Site Representatives, the Site Supervision Team and the Client.

The key responsibilities within this role will include:

- Proven ability and understanding of operations for project planning associated with all phases of engineering design, construction and maintenance;
- Capable of applying scheduling principals and practices as required for assigned projects;
- Perform baseline schedule maintenance, control and forecasting by obtaining activity status from responsible personnel, updating schedule with status, reviewing & performing analysis of schedule progress;
- Prepare and maintain a master schedule for upcoming and completed site activities;
- Participate in the identification and tracking of changes or potential changes to the project schedule thus ensuring impacts are highlighted in advance to Project Team (and Client as required);
- Review schedule progress with Project Team to identify performance trends, potential problems and offer solutions for rectification;
- Monitor work scopes and provide support to the Project Team as a whole;
- Undertake ongoing evaluation and maintenance of Progress Reporting, Schedules and 'Associated Labour' timesheet reviews

You will also be expected to liaise directly with client and / or other participating parties to ensure that company programs are integrated with program master scedules in addition to building and maintaining both internal and external business relationships

All of the above must be undertake in a safe and competent manner in accordance with company and site specific client stipulations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years experience operating in a similar capacity to that outlined above

Proven forecasting and problem solving skills utilising scheduling software, specifically, Primevera P6 and MS Project

Demonstrable ability to develop multi-level schedules and determine variations within a high pressure environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills to compliment an analytical mind and a highly organised

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Non essential but highly regarded traits include

Trade Qualifications with previous exposure to large scale maintenance and mechanical projects, especially those with related shutdown / outage schedules

Previous experience utilising SAP
