The Company:
Our major oil and gas client is seeking a Project Planner for a one year opportunity in West Houston.

The Role:
• Develop the planning and cost control strategies, including: plans and procedures for estimating, cost control guidelines, plans and schedules reflecting both company and Contractor roles and responsibilities
• Adhere to the segment financial, business and project processes as applicable
• Ensure the development of the appropriate budgets; implement, and monitor costs within a project stage and for the entire project until closeout / completion.
• Ensure proper documentation is provided for each request for funding (AFE)
• Ensure reporting and backup is provided from vendors for monthly WIP reports and provide guidance to Project Leads for proper forecasting.
• Ensure the development of estimates and studies within a project stage in coordination with both internal and external Cost Estimators.
• Coordinate preparation of Cost Risk Analysis
• Create initial project plans and templates for use by Project Leads
• Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules, with detail relevant to the project stage through closeout
• Ensure contractors provide monthly schedule updates
• Provide Project Leads with latest schedule forecasts, challenges and mitigation recommendations
• Coordinate development of Project Execution Plan, Field Test Plans, and Interface Plan
• Coordinate Schedule Risk Analysis
• Develop and implement Risk management procedures for project costs, and schedules
• Coordinate the development of Risk mitigation plans
• Coordinate Risk Management activities for team
• Link Risk, Schedule, Cost and Management of Change control processes

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Associates or higher degree with a minimum of 8 years applicable experience, emphasis on Scheduling and Project Management
• Familiarity with specific Cost Engineering processes and procedures
• Minimum 10 years experience in Oil and Gas industry
• Major Projects planning and execution, experience with CVP (MPCP), brown-field projects experience, well and facilities operations
• High regard for HSSE principals
• Experience in a Research and Development project
• Knowledge of and experience relating Unconventional Gas
• Able to communicate effectively with Project team members to ensure depletion, surface facilities and technology business objectives are met in a dynamic setting with evolving understanding of the resource
• Ability to work well with third parties, especially contractors and partners with various disciplines
• Experience with contract strategies and contract development
