The Company:
I am currently working on a Joint Venture programme between two of the world’s renowned business leaders on its multi-billion dollar growth plan across Western Australia. My client is leading and defining the international natural resources market. Since forming the partnership in 2008, they have already received over $7bn of capital investment. They employ over 6000 people based across 50 global locations, many of their contract staff have worked with them for over 5 years on average.

The Role:

Due to continuous expansion, I am now seeking a Project Planner / Scheduler to work on a new processing plant in Western Australia. The role will see successful individuals assisting with the preparation of schedules that are fully comprehensive, resource loaded, the correct logic is applied and area interrelationships are addressed. The individual will also be responsible for timely, quality updates and analysis and that any deviations from the plan are communicated to the project management team.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- To live and promote the Project Covenants and Objectives
- To meet the position Objectives and KPI’s.
- To be personally responsible for ‘Zero Incident & Injuries’.
- Undertake project planning and schedule development, maintenance and monitoring for all phases of the Programme, including engineering, procurement, construction and start-up of facilities.
- Monitor and review key performance indicators to benchmark individual & collective project performance
- Provide recommendations for planning and scheduling requirements relative to staffing and project control
- Plan, organize and supervise schedule resource loading and levelling. Integrate appropriate staffing requirements for each discipline relative to the overall project needs.
- Make recommendation on quantity and staffing levels required to execute the project.
- Facilitate obtaining required schedule information by all disciplines. Works with relevant departments to ensure an understanding of the project scope and schedule.
- Analyse and study problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities. Monitor and report on critical path and schedule performance of project.
- Reporting to Lead Planner

The role will require key competencies / skills such as:

- The ability to assess project risks and understand associated contingencies
- The ability to assess project risks and understand associated contingencies
- Ability to read and review data sheets and engineering drawings
- Thorough knowledge of components of project organisation
- Sound knowledge of cost forecasting
- Ability to assess scope of work for cost control purposes
- Ability to analyse excursions from the norm
- Ability to undertake option analysis for competing designs and work-arounds
- Understanding of and ability to follow Company policies and procedures
- Strong organisational skills
- Understanding HSE regulations and standards

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Tertiary Engineering qualifications or equivalent experience
