The Company:
Global Oil Company with a number of interesting and large projects on the go at present.

The Role:
KEY ROLES
• To coordinate all planning activity for Project at the BDJF site and support the Planning Manager to provide the functional planning interface between the BDJF site team in Baku and the Central Planning Team.
• Support the BDJF Project General Manager(s) to achieve contract objectives
• To manage the team of planning engineers covering BDJF scope in Baku.
• Ensure timely and high quality delivery against key planning activities and deliverables (see detailed roles and responsibilities)
• Ensure contractor compliance with contractual planning, scheduling and reporting requirements especially those detailed contractually within the Project Coordination Procedures (PCP).
• BDJF scope is Jacket & Subsea fabrication, Upgrades of fabrication, Upgrades of vessels, Offshore installation work, Pipe coating, SCV build

BASIC SKILLS
• Ability to manage a team of mixed-experience, mixed-nationality planning engineers
• Ability to train and develop Azerbaijani national staff to fill more senior planning engineering positions while continuing to meet demanding project cost control deliverables.
• Advanced influencing and communication skills in English language.
• Ability to work under own initiative.
• Able to create a performance culture that is designed to deliver success:

• Ability to produce good quality written reports and summary presentations – able to communicate clarity from complexity.
• Competent with computers and IT including experience of using standard productivity software (e.g. MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint)
• Able to use Primavera version 6 (P6) and Microsoft Project planning software

RESPONSIBILITIES
To manage the team of planning engineers within the BDJF scope delivery team supporting the BDJF scope areas ensuring timely and high quality delivery against the following planning and scheduling activities:

• Demonstrate HSE leadership by actively engaging the site team and construction contractors with actions that contribute to delivering on client’s HSE expectations
• Ensure the following are developed, maintained, assessed, and communicated:
o Fabrication project Baseline Schedules
o Logically-linked, resource-loaded Live Schedule to identify all major events/milestones and critical interfaces
o 6-Week Look-Ahead Schedules
o Weekly Fabrication Dashboards
o Daily Diary of project major events and decisions
o Level 1 / critical path summary schedules for management presentations and to enable clear decision making (analysis of options).
• Develop presentation summaries and other “ad hoc” planning reports
• Perform “what if” and/or risked scheduling scenarios (as required) in order to recover schedule deviations along with assisting with development of alternative work sequences
• Provide experience-based estimates for best-case, most-likely, and worst-case activity durations as inputs to schedule risk analysis (SRA) activities
• Actively observe, assess, evaluate, and determine construction activities first-hand to ensure satisfactory execution progress in accordance with the project schedule
• Ensure that actual progress and cost data are incorporated into the Live Schedule
• Work with Project Construction Manager the PSM/PSL and Cost & Risk Engineers to develop consolidated Earned Value-Cost Charts and to feed 6-monthly Cost and Schedule Verification Reviews (CSVR) and associated SRA’s.
• Coordinate efforts with site team and various project stakeholders to:
o Ensure timeliness of deliverables (drawings, materials, etc.), monitoring engineering delivery schedules and Procurement/Expediting Status Reports (PSR/ESR)
o Verify, and keep current, actual ROS requirements from Contractor
o Ensure fabrication interests are appropriately communicated and incorporated into the overall Integrated Project Schedule
o Ensure that contractors’ planning services & reporting meets coordination requirements
• Determine and track planning-related Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as part of supplier performance management activities.
• Lead site team discussions regarding planning and progress
o Lead 6-monthly planning input to Cost and Schedule Verification Reviews (CSVR’s) including bottoms-up review of the schedule, applying an overview to the contractor’s schedule or re-base lining if deemed necessary.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the development of Azerbaijani nationals
• Ensure compliance with planning and scheduling practices and procedures
o Develop site-based procedures for planning and scheduling for the team
o Review and approve contractor planning and scheduling procedures, ensuring that they meet the requirements of client and the contract Project Coordination Procedures
o Assess contractor against planning and scheduling KPI’s as part of supplier performance management
o Coach the contractor to close any gaps which have been identified against the contract Project Coordination Procedures

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum:
Higher National Certificate/ Higher National Diploma (HNC/ HND)

EXPERIENCE
Demonstrable track record of experience and accountabilities, relevant to the job description described herein, gained on similar large-scale offshore oil & gas projects:
• Substantial construction-related planning and scheduling experience on oil & gas facilities
• Substantial experience interfacing and working together with owner and contractor project services personnel
• Significant experience working with internationally-based contractors
• Substantial experience closely aligned with job responsibilities
• Experience with reviewing contractors monthly application for payment
• Experience of leading a small team of other planning engineers
• Experience of using Primavera version 6 (P6) and Microsoft Project planning software

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in Science, Engineering or similar discipline (e.g. Quantity Surveying)
Membership or Chartered Status of a recognised professional body
