The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
The PPA has overall responsibility for Project Materials Management which includes purchasing, expediting, logistics, spare parts management, scrap / surplus disposal and project material closeout activities that may occur during the engineering and fabrication phases of a project.

As a Procurement professional, the Project Procurement Advisor shall 1) ensure Process Integrity, 2) provide Commercial Experience and Insight, 3) leverage Global Procurement Spend and Supply Chain Expertise, and 4) efficiently provide contracting and procurement expertise

• Gain alignment on project procurement needs, objectives and requirements
• Participate with Engineering during FEED in the identification of Long Lead Equipment and conduct procurement activities to secure those items
• Ensure Contractor's purchasing and change procedures and processes meet contract requirements
• Manage Contractor’s purchasing and materials management activities
• Communicate on project procurement activities
• Provide logistics coordination and expediting support for the project
• Provide spare parts coordination for the project
• Ensure closeout of procurement activities and reconciliation of materials and equipment from project to production at the end of the project
• Develop and execute administrative processes that advance the project’s procedures, goals and objectives

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering disciplines or Supply Chain Management

* 5-10 years of Project Procurement experience
• Experience in construction, maintenance, drilling, or production services procurement, experience in major capital projects is preferred
• Intermediate to expert procurement skills
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
• Upstream experience would be very beneficial but not required
• Effective interpersonal skills to interface with contractors and business clients
• Must be a self-starter and able to work in a virtual organization
