The Company:
Leading Nuclear Decommissioning Consultancy with offices throughout the UK. They are a major supplier to the nuclear industry working on a variety of projects for different sites.

The Role:
The role exists in order to provide independent quality inputs to the delivery of projects and contracts, by ensuring advice and support is given to the Engineering/project teams with regards to defining quality control and inspections requirements within design documentation and effective inspection of equipment delivered to our customers.
The Project Quality Control Engineer will carry out inspection assignments as and when required, and undertake specific activities on behalf of the Assurance function as required.

These inspection assignments will include:
- Carrying out risk assessment prior to inspection activity taking place
- Inspection of actual equipment.
- Witnessing of specific tasks; NDE, functional testing etc.
- Review and endorsement of supporting documentation throughout the life cycle of the contract; e.g. NDE reports, weld schedules, EC&I test documentation.
- Timely reporting of inspection assignments.
- Ongoing and final review of LTQR packages.
- Final release of procured items.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally the Project Quality Control Engineer will be:
• Qualified to a HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject e.g. engineering.
• Have auditor training.
• Willing to travel to locations / sites throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.

Have experience preferably gained within a similar role in the Nuclear or other highly regulated industry in the following areas:
• Fabrication and welding techniques
• NDT techniques
• Mechanical Inspection
• Electrical assembly and testing
• Reviewing material certification

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Good working knowledge of the Nuclear industry.
• Good working knowledge of all relevant regulations and legislation.
• Good working knowledge of the Customers quality requirements.
• Good working knowledge and application of ISO 9001.
• Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.

• Persuasive and influential.
• Flexible approach.
• Questioning attitude.
• Customer focused; both internal and external.
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Computer literate with experience in using software packages relevant to the role e.g. word, excel, outlook, internet, etc.
• The ability to produce accurate and appropriate information (e.g. reports, data, etc.) in a timely manner.
• Proactively contributes ideas for change.
• Continually seeks to improve working practice, performance and productivity.
• Actively promotes health and safety.
