The Role:
The Quality Engineer reports to the Project Quality Manager (PQM) and may deputise for the PQM during periods of his absence.
The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of day-to-day Project Quality Management System (PQMS) activities on the project.
This position supports the PQM with the development and effective implementation of the PQMS by the Project Team and contractors.
The Quality Engineer supports the achievement of project goals in a manner which meets corporate, business unit and contractual requirements.

The Quality Engineer: -

Supports and delivers project quality activities including quality planning, contractor / sub-contractor surveillance, non-conformance control, corrective action verification, management of change, audits, continuous improvement, project quality reporting & review.
Supports project service and product verification and inspection of the project deliverables consistent with criticality assessments and contractual and regulatory obligations.
Provides support and guidance to personnel including Project Engineers, Supplier Quality Coordinators, Site QA/QC personnel, Inspection Coordinators, etc.
The Quality Engineer conducts / participates in scheduled assessments, verifications and audits of the Project Team, EPIC Contractors, Sub-Contractors and major critical Suppliers.
The position supports audit findings to resolution and closure and provides feedback on quality related issues, working closely with Company resources.
The position is expected to foster an environment of Incident and Injury Free and world class capital stewardship.
Effective engagement and communication with project team members is expected to ensure consistency in PQMS development & implementation.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or demonstrable competence through experience and / or discipline related qualifications.
Qualified QMS lead auditor (TS29001 / API Q1 / ISO 9001) an advantage.
Related professional work experience in engineering, procurement, construction and/or project QA/QC recent Quality Management experience on Major Capital Projects.
Experienced in developing and managing activities related to ITP’s, EPIC QA/QC, material specification reviews, verification schemes, performance standards and related scopes of work.

Leadership and Communication:

Ability to interact and influence Project, BU management. Communicates in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Maintains frequent, proactive, and effective contact with stakeholders.
