The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
Based at Chapel Cross
To provide a high quality Quality Assurance and Inspection service to Projects and Tendering to ensure compliance to Nuvia QMS procedures and Client requirements.
• Advice and production of quality related documentation for Corporate, Project and Tendering purposes
• Assessment of the effectiveness of the Company QMS on behalf of the Business Systems Manager
• Advice on quality related matters
• Preparation of Quality Control Plans
• Preparation of Quality Plans
• Preparation of Corporate and Project Specific Procedures
• Inspection of mechanical equipment at Suppliers works and on Nuvia sites
• Approval of Suppliers’ quality related documentation.
• Conduct Internal and Supplier Audits
• Supplier audits
• Advice to Divisional Heads and staff on quality related matters

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Demonstrable competence gained in an Inspection and QA position
• QA Auditing to ISO 9001:2008
• Good understanding of generic mechanical principles is preferred e.g. welding, materials selection, inspection techniques, NDT, etc.
• Nuclear industry experience is preferred, but not a pre-requisite
• Technical experience could be gained from, but not limited to precision engineering, pressure vessels and piping, pumps, conveyer systems, remote handling systems / equipment, heavy engineering, cranes

Preferably HNC qualified in a technical/engineering discipline though not essential. Minimum ONC or equivalent qualification gained in a relevant technical, engineering or design discipline. A full UK drivers licence is essential for this position as travelling between offices may be required.
