The Role:
Main Responsibilities:
• Ensure suitability of project documentation.
• Provides specialist Operational Health and Safety support for the assigned project(s).
• Acts as the interface between the project teams and the corporate safety team.
• Ensures project specific procedures and documents required for safe operations and emergency response are prepared and
• Influences contractor safety performance through audits, incident investigations and ensuring that all identified actions are
closed out.
• Acts as focal point for all queries on environmental subjects, liaising with the company’s environment department for specialist

Main Activities:
• Through the preparation of safety documentation, auditing of worksites and support of operational teams contribute to the aim of
achieving the Project Division safety objectives.
• With assistance from the Safety Engineer prepares documentation for the Projects Division and specific projects such as.
• Projects annual SHE Plan; Project SHEMP.
• Project Bridging Document.
• Project Emergency Response Bridging Plan.
• Operations Interface Plan.
• SIMOPS Technical Dossier.
• Ensures that all relevant parties review these documents and incorporates comments.
• Provides support to all site construction or installations activities including. responding on safety and environment queries;
incident investigation, analysis and reporting including review of Stre@m cases; follow-up of close-out of any actions from
• Prepares safety reports as required by Project Management.
• Ensure permits, licences, authorisations, notification, consents are submitted/obtained from relevant bodies – by the relevant
company entities.
• Prepares HSE audit plans for projects and organises (or carries out) audits as required, ensures reports are issued and ensures
that all actions are closed out correctly.
• Attends HAZIDs and risk assessments as required and supports the Projects Division safety engineer in the preparation of the
meetings and close-out of the actions arising.
• Attend contractor SHE meetings as required.
• Prepare safety data for presentation by Project Director at SHEMB.
• Organises, prepares appropriate material and attends project safety meetings, and ensures that all actions arising are recorded.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Highly experienced in an operational safety role with specific experience of the offshore drilling environment.
• A professional qualification in safety (minimum NEBOSH certificate or equivalent).
• Experience in incident investigation and analysis using a systematic methodology (preferably Apollo Root Cause Analysis).
• Experience of carrying out audits of safety procedures (SIMOPS, permit etc).
• Experience writing procedures and bridging documents.
• Offshore Survival Certificate plus MIST.
• Offshore Medical Certificate.
