The Company:
Our client, a major Oil & Gas owner/operator, is seeking expertise for their major projects in Alberta.

The Role:
• Implementation field support for projects such as the ARB Blending Project, IHB Tank, TK Gauging Platforms etc. Provides continuity for project work as defined in the implementation schedule. Updates shift teams regarding ongoing project work.
• Participates in defining training requirements, and creating commissioning and operating procedures for new and altered equipment related to the Projects.
• Review project work scopes and provide operational comments. Performs field verification of project drawings and documentation. Responsible for walkdowns and punchouts of all new/altered equipment with assistance from operators.
• Assist O.C in preparing blind lists, procedures, checklists, OIP’s etc
• Participate in CTA’s, engineering reviews and safety audits including follow-ups.
• Attending projects status and update meetings.
• Act as O.C. designate for Confined Space entries etc. when required.
• Audit unit scaffolding and update teardown list for Project Scaffolds.
• Ensure Safe Work Practices are adhered to in regards to permits, blinds and isolation lists.
• Assume other duties as directed by the Projects OC as required.
• Issue permits as required. Permits will need to be issued in various Units. Permits will only be issued for Project work that is not part of a live Process System.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of a fourth class power engineering certificate, third class preferred
• Minimum two years operations experience (preferably upgrader/ refinery) in an equivalent industrial plant setting
• Previous commissioning and start up experience is an asset
• Safety Prerequisites: OSSA Confined Space, OSSA Fall Protection, WHMIS, CSTS V 3.2 or PITS, H2S Alive, Basic First Aid CPR, Respiratory Protection Fit Test
