The Role:
ACTIVITIES :

Consolidated statutory accounts of Total Holdings Nederland Group (and 4+ others):
- assist the Financial Consolidation Specialist in the preparation of the consolidated and stand alone annual statutory reporting for THNL and BV’s, in SAP BFC;
- maintain contacts and obtain all necessary information from foreign subsidiaries (fin. statements + details);
- ensure proper analysis of input and clarification of details;
- ensure consistency of IFRS treatment throughout the consolidation and reporting process;
- take an active role in streamlining and improving the consolidation process, using consistency checks where possible and paying particular attention to new or non-routine items;
- evaluate / revue remarks from statutory auditors and process agreed updates;

Special projects : improvement of Consolidation software:
- participate in analysis, formatting and testing of data in the software;
- communicate to and support local and foreign Accountants in use of this tool
- assist Financial Consolidation Specialist as needed to help ensure timely delivery.

Methods issues/non-recurring items
- research, resolve and document methods issues (IFRS compliance, position papers) and treatment of issues for non-recurring items;
- assist in development and documentation of local Accounting processes with a focus on best practices.

Other activities include
- provide information and analysis as needed for internal and external audits of THNL, THI and TFNL;
- promote Accounting best practices and compliance with IFRS and SOX controls;
- function as back-up for the Financial Consolidation Specialist and provide ad hoc assistance within Accounting.
- project management: ad hoc accounting process improvement

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT :
Context: Accuracy, compliance with applicable accounting principles, and timely reporting are essential. The job holder should be able to work well in a quick-paced environment.
Constraints: dependency on information providers in quality/quantity (internal, subsidiaries) and tight deadlines must be respected.
Other: knowledge of IFRS rules, multi-currency consolidation, numerous contacts (i.e. HO Paris, subsidiaries, statutory auditors)

ACCOUNTABILITIES :
The jobholder fulfils necessary accounting & reporting requirements while optimising information collection and processing in an efficient manner. Pro-activity and problem solving capacity are essential in this role.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
minimum level of HEAO (higher economic school) + at least 3 years relevant experience. Big 4 audit experience and/or experience preparing statutory reports under IFRS preferred

- advanced knowledge of accounting principles
- thorough knowledge and experience with IFRS rules
- Experience with consolidation of financial statements (preferably with SAP/BFC)
- strong Excel skills
- fluent in English language
