The Company:
Our client is a leading engineering solutions provider for blue-chip companies in the UK.

The Role:
The Proposals/Bid Manager will be involved with the production and delivery of an approved bid within the specified timescales conforming to the agreed sales strategy/plan and in accordance with risk/return profile

Ensure that all aspects of key milestones are adhered to and implemented effectively and robustly

Identification and management of the bid resources required to produce a bid within timescales which meet the customer requirements within the allocated bid budget

Sales strategy – understanding and contributing to the sales strategy win themes and value proposition and ensuring they are embedded in the proposal

Identification and management of risk within the bid

The Proposals/Bid Manager will be involved with the Change management within the bid

Support of customer presentation

Understanding of the customer, business and market environments into which the opportunity/proposal is to be submitted

The Proposals/Bid Manager will have responsibility of the proposal writing/authoring – development of proposal material in support of customer proposals

Development and management of 3rd party sub-contractor relationships/alliances in support of opportunities

Production of the lesson identified/learnt report after each major milestone in bid cycle (proposal, submission, negotiation, contract award etc)

The Proposal/Bid Manager will be directly responsible for the Bid Co-ordinator and any other bid support/administration roles. They are required to facilitate and coordinate the activities, inputs and outputs of the technical/commercial/financial and other functions of the bid team.

The Proposal/Bid Manager is expected to have a detailed knowledge of the governance processes and should act in an advisory capacity to the wider business

They will be expected to have a thorough understanding of the wider business and know who the key stakeholders are by sector and capability.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The Proposals/Bid Manager will have Qualification APMP, Shipley trained

Excellent project management skills (PRINCE 2 or similar)

Bid management skills

Highly numerate with commercial acumen

Experience of managing and delivering bids of significant value and or commercial risk/complexity (£50m?)

Knowledge of customer procurement practices/methodologies

Experience of managing budgets, governance and risk throughout the bid process
