The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
• Responsible for the support of HV and MV Protection Relays including the interface to the SCADA and Remote Terminal Units. Providing on site commissioning support, maintenance and out of hours call out service.

• Working in conjunction with the Power System Automation Department to assist in the installation and test of new Protection and SCADA projects.
• Provide technical support to other team members as required
• Provide technical support in evaluating customer requirements and answering associated technical queries during project deliveries and support the sales and tendering section when necessary.
• Participate within Internal Kick off meetings to impart experience and knowledge into projects from the start
• Act as a focal point for customer approval activities and assist with Type Registration and project specific design freezes.
• Preparation of technical specifications, test reports, diagrams, test specifications, IED configurations and design drawings etc.
• Work on an ‘on call Rota’ to provide out of hours emergency call out service to existing customers.
• Maintain the reporting and record system for customer problems and fixes.
• Help to maintain the spares and customer standby systems.
• To ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Safety Procedures and Accountancy Policies

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Strong background knowledge of the protection and control of power transmission and distribution relays.
• Full UK/EU car driving licence
• Good Working Knowledge of SCADA & RTU’s.
• Demonstrate excellent customer focus.
• Security clearance disclosures

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• A good Generator protection background
• Qualified to recognisable Education Standards.
• Strong people skills.
• National Safety Passport.
• National Grid BESC and competent person
• Good understanding of the CDM regulations and current H&S legislation.
