The Role:
The PSCM (Procurement & Supply Chain Management) Category Specialist reports to the PSCM Category Lead and is responsible for ensuring that all relevant Category Management activities are underpinned by an appropriate commercial arrangement, in relation to the releant categories, and that the business is optimising the use of our Contracts.
Undertake specific commercial exercises (tenders) to underpin operations spend.
Research and understand specific markets.
Ensure contracts are created and maintained to align with activity and are used in accordance with business rules (call off mechanism).
Ensure compliance with PSCM and other processes of the company.
Provide post-contract support to peer category teams in the performance management of suppliers.
Support the delivery of Operations & HSSE Team Annual Plan (including HSSE performance).
Provide support for all related Category PSCM Practices, Policies and Processes.
Deliver Pre & Post Contract Award PSCM support including contracting strategy development, sourcing, negotiation, contract commitments & contract execution for Operational requirements, including contract/commercial support, assessment of claims and close-out of contracts as required.
Facilitate Internal RPU and PSCM Functional Connectivity particularly in PSCM practice, lessons learned and shared information.
Develop and enhance Relationships with Key Suppliers in day to day interaction as well as through interaction with the Contract Manager.
Coach, facilitate & nurture, peer teams in the performance of Category Management.
Provide SCM support to develop relevant Category Cost Maps, Inflation Reporting & overall Status Reporting.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Effective communicator at all levels
• Strong interpersonal skills to influence departmental peers, other Company departments and external stakeholders.
• Effective supplier relationship management skills.
• Demonstrable experience in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or another commercial discipline.
• Ability to negotiate contractual and commercial terms with suppliers to optimise Company’s commercial position.
• Experience in drafting & executing contract terms.
• Experience in post-contract management & risk/claims mitigation activity.
• Experience in the principles of detailed e-based procedures & processes in the control of sourcing processes.
