The Company:
Our client specialises in delivering high value, low risk, Engineering and Service Support Solutions to Automotive Test Facilities and Industrial & Marine market sectors.

The Role:
Key Tasks

To assist in sourcing materials as requested and negotiating best price for their purchase.
To place orders for materials identified on Bills of Materials prepared by engineers
To record goods received on internal systems
To assist in ensuring that orders are in place for all goods and services required by the business and that they are recorded on the computerised accounting system correctly
To assist in accounting for stock by undertaking stock counts, where applicable, and recording the results
To assist in ensuring that projects are correctly recorded in SAP
To deal with all general enquiries from both internal and external sources
As part of the team, to answer the telephone and the door and direct callers appropriately and to provide refreshments for visitors
To provide cover for other members of the team at times of sickness, holiday or other absences as appropriate
Work as part of a team, and influence improvements in working environment, efficiency and quality

Compliance with requirements of ISO 9001 and 14001 registrations
Compliance with all health and safety requirements
Attend relevant training to develop knowledge and skills as appropriate to the business


Proven ability of high standards of service delivery
Experience of working in an engineering environment
Experience of dealing with purchase order and goods received documentation
Experience of data input
Experience of complying with relevant engineering and quality standards

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of a computerised MRP package, preferably SAP
Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Extensive knowledge of and ability to identify a wide range of electrical and mechanical components
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a small team, which may contain colleagues from other disciplines
Ability to take initiative
Ability to achieve and maintain good working relationships with external and work colleagues
Innovative, enthusiastic and prepared to complete tasks
Ability to work on a number of tasks to tight deadlines and prioritise work in an organised pattern
Willingness and commitment to personal development
Good time management and an ability to prioritise

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering degree or equivalent
Experience of complying with relevant engineering and quality standards
Valid UK driving licence and passport
