The Company:
Our client is one of the worlds largest providers of technical services across a wide range of sectors, including nuclear.

The Role:
The requirement is for a Purchasing officer to support the Project Manager.
The role will require full-time attendance on the Sellafield nuclear site.

Responsibilities will include:

Ensure competent quality execution of all regular purchasing duties.
Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing.
Prepare reports and summarise data.
Execution and monitoring of all regular purchasing duties.
Coordinate with suppliers in the purchasing scope of work for projects assigned.
Assist in managing and following up orders.
Support relevant departments with quotations for the purpose of tenders.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
Responsible for the preparation and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.
Monitor and co-ordinate deliveries of items between suppliers to ensure items are delivered to site on time.
Negotiate for best purchasing package (in terms of quality, price, term, delivery and service) with suppliers and sub-contractors assigned.
Source for suppliers or sub contractors when the need arises.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- HNC in relevant course.

Essential Experience
Minimum 2 years experience of a role as a purchasing officer.
Working within a regulated and quality assured system.
Experience of working within multi disciplinary project team.
Ability to effectively communicate with variety of team members and stakeholders.
Previous experience of handling Security Marked Information.

IT skills:
SAP, Word, Excel

Personal Competencies:
Good communicator
Flexible
Good organisational skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred Experience - 2+ years of purchase officer experience in the Nuclear Industry.
Previous experience of working with Sellafield processes and procedures.

Security Clearance
Current ‘SC’ Level preferred, but will accept Enhanced Baseline Standard (EBS) to begin with (this will need to be gained prior to commencement). Clearance up to ‘DV’ Level may be required once the candidate is mobilised on the project.
