The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Programmes Purchasing team is part of the Purchasing function. Its role is to manage the interface between Purchasing and Programme Management’s Cross functional team to ensure supplier sourcing, cost, quality and timing are all delivered against Programme Gateway requirements. Programmes purchasing offers a unique and highly challenging experience with business-wide exposure and development, where the key to success is the ability to manage our internal customer's expectations, and deliver against their requirement using resources assigned against multiple and often conflicting priorities. Key responsibilities include working closely with the wider Purchase department to ensure sourcing cost, quality and timing are all delivered against Programme Gateway deliverables and that all sourcing is aligned to the clients Global Sourcing Process. From a Purchasing perspective this will also include capacity verification and supporting, production buyers in ensuring that appropriate order coverage is in place within the supply base to support early prototype builds and launch activities.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILL REQUIRED:
1) Highly self-motivated, enthusiastic determined individual able to work on their own initiative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate and influence a wide range of stakeholders at all levels in the business essential
2) Experience of managing complex projects with the ability to work to strict deadlines and to drive others to meet commitments
3) Experience in Purchasing, Automotive, Programme Management systems and processes


Ideally, you will be educated to degree level (or equivalent), and/or have a professional qualification in Manufacturing / Production Engineering / Cost Engineering / Purchasing / IT. Consideration will be given to non-degree qualified candidates with appropriate Purchasing, Automotive, Programme Management or IT data processing experience Highly developed IT data processing skills in Microsoft Office - Excel / Access / SQL Excellent business acumen, a drive for results. A passion to succeed, personal initiative and influencing skills to manage the programme sourcing activity and maintain a positive relationship with stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective cross-functional team working experience. Adaptable to rapidly changing circumstances, with experience managing conflicting priorities. Finds problem solving a rewarding experience. Has a continuous improvement mind-set. Able to use their own initiative and escalate issues appropriately. Work with key stakeholders across the business to maximise purchasing influence.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
Knowledge of Automotive Product Development processes and Programme Life Cycle Management Experience in project management of strategic sourcing. Highly developed IT data processing skills in Microsoft Office - Excel / Access / SQL
