The Company:
Our client, an innovator in open hole, multi-completion systems, is looking to add to their growing team in Alberta. This company provides solutions for technically challenging applications in horizontal, vertical, multi-lateral and high pressure / high temperature (HPHT) wells.

This role is open to permanent residents of Canada only

The Role:
Supervise Purchasing department to ensure high performance in meeting supply requirements.

• Reports to the Canadian Manufacturing Manager

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Purchasing departments overall productivity while ensuring the department is operating cost effectively
• Manage, monitor and delegate incoming purchase requisitions; ensure incoming requisitions are fulfilled accurately and on time
• Monitor and review product cost to ensure department guidelines are met
• Collaborate with other Manufacturing departments to ensure processes and service levels meet or exceed Packers Plus standards
• Provide order status updates and follow up with stakeholders as required
• Communicate process requirements to staff and monitor for compliance
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation for the department
• Facilitate weekly Purchasing meeting
• Participate in project initiatives involving other Manufacturing departments
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with core suppliers
• Create schedule for afterhours coverage
• Ensure department is adequately staffed
• Provide effective leadership to Purchasing group including training and development; performance management; vacation approval; and quarterly bonus reviews

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
• Oil and gas experience
• Degree or diploma or courses/certification in Purchasing an asset
