The Role:
The jobholder is responsible for maintaining the quality level of the company products through the implementation of quality assurance procedures, plans, audits, and tests in the various stages of the production and inspection processes.

Major Responsibilities
•    Takes charge of all QA and company activities as defined in the procedures for projects undertaken or assigned to

•    Acts as an authority to put on hold any operation that is incapable of producing a quality product during the surveillance / inspection process and gives feedback to his subordinate for further action

•    To participate and liaise with other departments in preparing procedures as tie-in to existing process and conduct surveillance on its implementation for effectiveness and compliance.
•    Conducts quality audits on company, assesses sub-contractors/vendors and follows up with necessary corrective and preventive actions
•    Prepares Inspection Test Plan (ITP) as required in the procedure or customer’s specification and executes the ITP for compliance

•    Supervises QC group and provides quality advice and solutions to problems arise
•    Consolidates, plans, arranges and performs joint inspection where required with classification surveyors or customers
•    Monitors project status and/or performs quality inspections in-house and externally at sub-contractors’ or vendors’ sites
•    Plans the work scope of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), arranges the tests and monitors their results as defined in the procedure or the contract specifications
•    Assists in planning and coordinating the testing of products with testing department in the presence of classification surveyor and/or customer

•    Prepare quarterly periodic summary reports of quality reports of Corrective Action Report (CAR) and related issues with quality for analysis and prevention.

•    To maintain and improve ISO quality system and procedure where require.
•    Any other matters as delegated by Manager

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•    Degree holders in Shipbuilding or relevant fields
•    Applicant with qualification in CSWIP Welding Inspector / AWS Certified Welding Inspector or equivalent preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in QA field
•    Minimum at least 5 years of relevant experience in the marine industry with responsibilities in quality or manufacturing processes
•    Knowledge of deck machineries’ applications preferable
•    Good understanding of manufacturing processes and control systems (electrical & hydraulic) will be added advantage
•    Good understanding of quality methodology and systems preferable
•    Experienced in participating and conducting audits internally and on sub-contractor/vendor
•    Extensive knowledge of marine/offshore codes, classification regulations and construction practices
•    Able to understand and interpret ISO management standards well
