The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
Position Summary:
- The Quality Control Inspectors role is to ensure that all construction activities have been verified, reviewed and checked to company approved inspection test plans; Field check sheets relevant Australian codes, international standards, company procedures and specification. Also embraces the requirements of ISO 9001.
- The position ensures that the correct level of compliance is met with out compromising the intended design.

Organisational Structure:
- The position reports to Quality Control Manager and indirectly to site superintendents’ for plant and pipeline
- There are no positions reporting to the role.

Responsibilities:
• Performing and reporting inspection and testing activities in accordance with the approved Inspection and Testing Documentation and reporting results to construction managers.
• Report on the performance of the Quality System to the Quality Control Manager to identify improvements.
• Witness welder qualification tests and other special process operator qualification tests as required
• Undertake inspections and complete inspection checklists in accordance with the relevant Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) for work being performed by the field staff.
• Perform surveillance inspections on subcontractors work and attend witness points and hold points that are specified on the ITP which need to be released by the Quality Control Inspector and complete associated paperwork.
• Ensure that supervisors and site personnel are progressively signing off ITP’s and check sheets during execution of the work.
• Ensure all relevant documentation is being progressively collected to verify inspection and testing has been completed, e.g. hydro test, calibration certificates, survey results, and Non Destructive Examination (NDE) reports
• Liaise with NDE personnel to arrange NDE services to meet with program needs and compile reports.
• Ensure that punch listing is performed and outstanding items are completed.
• Ensure that weld procedures are followed and weld mapping is progressively completed.
• Assist in ensuring all prefabricated work and material is inspected before and after arriving on site.
• Review work pack finalisation including technical report and undertake review of subcontractor Quality Control agendas and Work Packs compliance.
• Ensure traceability spread sheet are updated daily- e.g. as built check sheet, welding check sheet.
• Raise and Issue Nonconformance Reports as required
• Ensure prompt reporting of all incidents or near misses in accordance with procedures.
• Undertake specific tasks and assignments as required that are commensurate with the position

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Mechanical Experience:
• Trade certificate
• Recognised International Welding Specialist or Inspector certificate.
• Sound knowledge in flange , valves ,pump installation and bolting
• Paint inspectors certificate
• Internal Auditors Certificate
Civil
• Sound knowledge in surveying, compaction and sand sampling, form work and reinforcement fixing, concrete pours and testing.

Common requirements:
• Knowledgeable and experienced in Pipelines Construction process
• Significant Experience as a Quality Control Inspector working in Engineering and Construction environment.

The ability to:
• Promote a positive HSE culture in the workplace.
• Comply with Company Risk Management, Quality Assurance and Health, Safety and Environment Management systems, including statutory obligations.
• Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities in processes or systems.
