The Company:
Our client is a leading engineering solutions provider for blue-chip companies in the UK.

The Role:
To be responsible for all Quality related activities on the Construction Site.
To carry out site QA/QC activities on site construction subcontractors.
To carry out offsite QC activities of suppliers and subcontractors as required.
To ensure that all supplier and handover documentation is correctly compiled against project requirements and in a timely manner.

To report findings of surveillance activities carried out on suppliers and subcontractors to verify that produced and installed equipment meets specified requirements.
To ensure that product and installation documentation is complete prior to acceptance.
To carry out internal/external quality audits as per approved Audit Programme.
To interface with vendors, subcontractor and client on QA/QC matters.

To ensure that all equipment is correctly installed and meets specification and client requirements, in a safe and timely manner.

The position operates within the Assurance & Compliance Department and reports to the Chief Inspector.The Site QA/QC Engineer will have direct contact with relevant Costain discipline engineers, vendors and subcontractor personnel and client interface on quality related matters.
The Site QA/QC Engineer has the authority to make decisions on quality matters with the support of discipline engineers and project management.
The Site QA/QC Engineer is to ensure that equipment is manufactured, installed and tested to meet the scope of work and Client requirements.
The Site QA/QC Engineer is to produce weekly reports on site QA/QC status.
The Site QA/QC Engineer is to ensure that concessions and non-conformances are closed out in a timely manner.
The Site QA/QC Engineer is to produce audit reports for all audits carried out, with CIAR’s identified if applicable.
The Site QA/QC Engineer is to ensure that the electronic completions certification system is operated and documentation produced in a timely manner.
The Site QA/QC Engineer is to ensure that the requirements of current manufacturing codes and specifications are met, including applicable EU Directives to allow CE marking of the plant.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge and understanding of the principles of Quality Assurance and Quality Control and their application to supplier and subcontractor surveillance.
Nationally accredited Internal auditor as a minimum.
Understanding of the principles of engineering, metallurgy, welding, NDT techniques and applicable quality standards.
Knowledge of current manufacturing and installation testing codes and standards, including EU Directives.
Basic Microsoft word based computer skills.
Knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental techniques as applicable to a construction environment.
The breadth of engineering aspects for the job require that experience is essential and that a period of less than 10 years in engineering relating to manufacturing, testing and document scrutiny would be sufficient.
The job requires good communication skills both with the Company, Suppliers.
