The Company:
Our client is one of the world’s largest and most diverse providers of professional technical services. With 2011 revenues of over $10 billion, offering support to industrial, commercial, and government clients across multiple markets. Services include scientific and specialty consulting as well as all aspects of engineering and construction, and operations and maintenance.

The Role:
Our client currently have a requirement to provide a QA/QC engineer to existing and new projects at Trawsfynydd decommissioning site in North Wales. As part of this support they require the services of a Quality Assurance/Quality Engineer to join the team

The role will be located at Trawsfynydd with occasional visits as required to sub-contractors premises. It is therefore necessary for the candidates to indicate their willingness to work at this location to facilitate selection. Due to the nature of the position, security clearance is required, so candidates already holding SC Clearance or above will be at an advantage.

The role included quality control and inspection, installation, operation and decommissioning of plant and equipment together with associated quality assurance.

The role reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager (functionally) and Project Manager in question. An eye for detail, good liaison and communications skills and the ability to integrate into a team are essential qualities for these roles. The positions offers a diverse set of engineering opportunities associated with the decommissioning of a nucleat power station and its support facilities. To ensure compliance with client and Actus requirements relating to site work installations required to deliver the project there is a requirement to increase the quality team on site as it has moved into an extremely busy period demanding high levels of assurance in this highly regulated arena.

- Responsible for overseeing all QA/QC activities relating to the project
- Carry out on-site walk downs of installed equipment and work and associated Quality Control actitivies
- Review of QA related documentation
- Oversee work in relation to QA/QC
- Undertaking vendor assessments
- Internal audits to company procedures and the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008
- Compilation of QA Documentation
- Identification of areas for Continuous Improvement
- Communicate with the project team in relation to QA activities to support the project

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Quality Control and Inspection
- Welding and fabrication knowledge
- Experience in the Nuclear Industry not essential but would be an advantage
- Auditing Experience
- Sub Contractor Management
- Knowledge of Magnox based Quality and Operating Procedures would be an advantage
