The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a QA/QC Lead for an Oil & Gas operator

Location: 6 months London then transfer to Azerbaijan
Duration: initially 12 months contract with view to extension
Rate: negotiable
Rotation for Azerbaijan: 6/2

Supervise on and facilitate contractor in execution of construction activities.
Controlling the QC functions for the Pipeline in Azerbaijan.
Ensuring that the pipeline Construction Contractor’s QC activities are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the contract and the Contractor’s control procedures, plans, and etc., and that the process is conducted effectively.
Provide functional guidance to the QC Leads
Promote achievement of the AGT Quality Policy and Objectives

Assist and support the Project Manager to achieve the contract objectives
Promote the Quality Policy & Objectives and ensure compliance to EP-GP-50-10-1 Quality Management in Major Projects
Demonstrate HSE leadership by actively engaging the onsite team and construction contractors with actions that contribute to delivering on companies HSE expectations
Verify implementation of contractors’ requirements.
Demonstrate a commitment to the development of Georgian nationals by providing advice, coaching and training
Manage the requisitioning, roles & responsibilities development, and selection process of all Pipeline PMT Quality staff in accordance with approved organisation charts and staffing plans in cooperation and interface with the Project Staff Planning and Control group (PSPC).
Participate in evaluation of bidder’s technical proposals. Complete bidder quality audits and evaluation of quality programs leading to contractor selections as required.
Review, endorse, and monitor Contractors Quality Plans and ensure the requirements of associated Inspection & Test Plans are fully implemented.
Approve & monitor Contractor’s plans for NDE subcontractors, civil and other testing labs.
Oversee Contractor’s weld procedure qualifications and welder testing and weld tracking.
Review and approval of Contractors Audit Program and participate in Contractors Audits.
When required, plan and perform quality audits and assessments of the contractors and their subcontractors.
Ensure that patrol surveillance of the Contractors activities, and of the Contractors QC activities is conducted.
Ensure personnel are in attendance at defined Hold and Witness points identified within the Inspection & Test Plans.
Ensure that Site QC meetings are held and quality requirements are fully discussed.
Determine and track key quality indicators.
Review and endorsement of Contractors QC personnel required for site.
Participate in the decision process relating to the disposition of deviations and concessions to specification and codes requested by contractor.
Ensure the Contractors competency assessment process is rigorously implemented.
Oversee site team’s preparation of quality documentation, system handover packages.
Interface with Handover and Commissioning Teams to ensure thorough punch out of systems, punch list tracking, and verification of handover quality documentation.
Complete special assignments outside of quality area as requested by SCPX Pipeline Delivery Area.
Ability to perform effectively in a team environment, inclusive of demonstrating collaborative, cooperative, flexible, adaptable, respectful, and tactful personal characteristics
Strong Leadership skills
Excellent work and personal ethics that include trustworthiness, commitment, and empathy
Confident, creative, and energetic approach to addressing all quality-related issues
Good inter-personal skills
Ability to produce quality written reports
Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HND/HNC (or equivalent technical qualifications)
Quality Lead Auditor certification and training
CQI or AQI Membership [desirable]

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Quality Management role
Minimum of 15 years’ experience on QC activities applicable to oil & gas onshore and/or offshore Pipeline and equipment
Experience in Azerbaijan and/or FSU region
Profound knowledge of applicable standards/ legislation
