The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
Coordinates and oversees QA and QC activities performed by the various Execution Construction Contractors for the Upstream Project and ensures a consistent approach is taken to QA and QC activities across the Construction Sites.

Scope of Work:
- Develop and implement QA/QC Strategies for the Execution Construction Scopes of Work
- Monitor the performance of and provide assistance and guidance to the QA/QC personnel embedded in the Construction Site Teams and provide functional guidance and assistance when required
- Conduct audits of the Principal Contractors, Subcontractors and Suppliers Quality Management Systems on a risk basis, as defined in the Project Audit Schedule. Log corrective actions and track through to closure. Highlight overdue actions to the PMT
- Manage the interface between the Independent Verification Body and the Construction Site Teams
- Provide input to the Continuous Improvement Programme
- Matrix manage QA/QC resources embedded within the Upstream Project Construction Site Teams and associated Contractors, via a functional reporting relationship
- Developing project specific QA/QC systems and procedures, as necessary, to support delivery
- The job holder's key role is to ensure standards are met, rather than initiate change; however he/she will participate in formal management of change meetings and input assessing the affect of any proposed change.
- Some national/international travel may be required.
- The imcumbent is expected to undertake regular visits/tours of Project execution worksites in order to visibly demonstrate QA/QC Leadership and support continuous systems improvement.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in both QA and QC
- Hands-on experience of quality system auditing (ideally in a Team Leader Role)
- QA and QC experience in a Project Construction role
- Oil and Gas industry experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Educated to degree or similar level, probably supplemented by on the job training/career development courses in Quality Assurance and HSSE
- Good working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001
- Lead auditor qualification desirable
- Good working knowledge of relevance International (and preferably national) code and Standards
- Good interpersonal skills with a flair for building internal and external networks at all organizational levels
- Target orientated and self motivated - able to work under minimum supervision
- Able to deliver presentations at a range of organizational levels
- A systematic and organised approach to work
- Good technical authorship skills
- Membership of an appropriate professional body (preferred but not essential)
