The Company:
Is a major oil and gas operator.

The Role:
To act as the focal point for Project quality, with particular emphasis on managing the quality assurance and quality control aspects of the function while working with the PMT, all key stakeholders and contractors.

Responsibilities:
HSSE
• Apply corporate and local Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE), policy and standards on project activities.
• Show Safety Leadership and visible commitment to safety performance and demonstrate appropriate behaviors in the leadership of HSSE
• Proactively contribute to project HSSE objectives and take personal responsibility for HSSE within area of influence. Promote good HSSE practices in contractors work area / office.
Management & Leadership
• Provide the necessary support and guidance to all Quality team personnel and the PMT and ensure that all company standards are complied with and that those other stakeholders as necessary are aware of company expectations.
• Work with the functional team and other key stakeholders and customers as necessary to ensure that process improvement opportunity and Quality management issues are effectively communicated and disseminated as appropriate.
Quality Management
• Update and maintain the Project Quality Strategy, Project Quality Plan and where appropriate the Third Party Verification Plan in accordance with the current project phases.
• Expeditiously resolve all quality issues arising out of detailed design, procurement and execution work.
• Co-ordinate and manage selected third party inspection contractors, marine warranty surveyor activities and independent verification contractors together with associated interfaces.
• Provide input as necessary into Invitations to Tender (ITT) and bid enquiries for direct procurement by the PMT. Ensure appropriate measures are taken to meet the project quality objectives. Identify any unresolved quality problems to the Starfish Project Manager together with recommendations to rectify/improve same.
• Perform key audits as determined by the project audit schedule, or as directed by the Projects QA/QC Manager. Maintain audit and non-conformance status logs/reports for all project audits and distribute to relevant parties.
• Review and approve as necessary the Contractors and principal suppliers’ inspection and test plans (ITPs).
• Review and approve the Contractors’ procedures for material identification and traceability (as used by Contractors in their procurement documentation).
• Review and provide relevant input to Contractors’ manufacturing, materials management (viz. procurement, handling, preservation and storage), construction, installation and commissioning procedures as needed.
• Capture, manage and distribute of shared project learning’s. Identify opportunities for improvement and ensure relevant learning’s are incorporated into the project.
• Proactively work with the PMT, contractors and suppliers to identify and resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Proven QA/QC management performance in delivering complex projects, specifically major EPC or EPCM contracts.
• Must have significant greenfield and brownfield offshore experience
• Thorough practical understanding of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g. ASME, API, IEC, ISO etc.) and their application.
• Working knowledge of, and experience with, subsea equipment manufacturing and installation (i.e. Xmas trees, wellheads, umbilicals, control systems, flexibles, pipelines etc.).
• Sound working knowledge of materials and welding including ferrous / non-ferrous steels, duplex stainless steels etc. – should also have experience with reviewing weld procedure specifications.
• Experience with managing third party verification schemes and marine warranty surveyor contractors.
• Experience in the development and structuring of quality/inspection control arrangements.
• Able to guide, mentor, coach and inspire other team members.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Capable of applying root cause analysis and trending techniques in the context of quality.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
