The Company:
A global Oil & Gas operator with extensive operations in the Caspian Region.

The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a QA Specialist for a long term contract within Azerbaijan

Location: Baku
Rotation: 6x2
Accommodation/flights/per diem: provided
Day Rate: Negotiable

Adhere to the Code of Conduct and to local laws and regulations.
Pursue systematic management through standardisation, clarification and the elimination of defects.
Follow and uphold the rules and standards and hold others to account for doing the same thing
Plan and carefully make well-informed decisions and do the right thing.
Foster learning, the sharing of knowledge and continuous improvement.

Experience in Quality roles, including major projects
The application of QMS activities applicable to ship building, petroleum, and offshore facilities and equipment.
Experience of planning, conducting and/or participating in external and internal quality audits.
Experience closely aligned with job responsibilities


Quality Management
Assist in the review process of Construction Ship Builder/subcontractors/suppliers quality deliverable requirements, attend site quality meetings.
Ensure consistent application of project quality processes.
Provide advice to others within the project team, Ship Builder, subcontractors/suppliers and third parties as required to ensure understanding of the project quality requirements.
Assist in the development and maintenance of project quality plan[s].
Interact on regular basis with the Ship Builder and the Class representative for delivery of quality.
Act as a quality functional lead for the Company QC personnel

Quality Planning:
Input to the development of the Quality Schedule in line with Project requirements.
Support the development and maintenance of the risk based Project audit schedule covering audits of the Delivery Team, Ship Builder and subcontractors/suppliers.
Plan and execute audits in line with the Ship Owner and Ship Builder audit schedules.

Quality Assurance:
Assist in Ship Builder/subcontractors/suppliers capability reviews, pre-contract award, to identify the capability of the contractor to meet the project specific requirements.
Facilitate and monitor the project surveillance activities applied by the project delivery team.
Review the suitability of the Ship Builder/ subcontractor QMS certification, quality plan and other relevant quality documentation.
Support conformance reviews as required during the lifecycle of the contract capturing non-conformances and utilises project and tools to manage and drive them to closure.
Lead internal audits of the project management system.

Quality Improvement:
Collect, evaluate and report quality management KPIs from the delivery team and Ship Builder, for performance management by the project and for regular reporting to the project manager and Marine & Subsea quality manager
Ensure that quality related lessons are captured for future projects via the Local and ETP Shared Learning Systems.
Ensure the distribution and the incorporation of quality related lessons learned from other projects.
Implement a quality improvement process to continuously capture and assess non-conformances and implement containment and corrective actions.
Conducts root-cause investigations of non-conformances identified against the project, driving to true root cause and meaningful corrective and preventative actions.
Actively participate in the Quality Community of Practice, cascading relevant information to the Delivery Team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
University degree in technical field civil/mechanical/structural engineering
Welding / Painting / NDE inspector certification from recognized institutions
Membership of recognised International Quality Institute or Organisation e.g. CQI, ASQ
Formal Quality Management qualification e.g. Certified Manager of Quality (ASQ), Diploma in Quality Management (CQI) or equivalent Internationally recognised technical academic qualification
