The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Quality Control Inspector for a long term contract position within South Korea

Type of Contract: Residential
Location: Geoje, South Korea
Day Rate: Negotiable

The QC Inspector is responsible for control of various QC activities related to fabrication, construction and pre-commissioning mainly for structure and piping but not limited to as following :
Review and acknowledge Contractor Quality Control / Inspection Plan, Procedures and Test Documents related to NDT/piping/structure/Sub-contractors.
Implement quality surveillance program and QC Surveillance activities to verify Contractor Inspection and Test activities in compliance with QC Plan, criticality, standards and specifications.
Witness the Construction, fabrication and subcontractor quality audits performed by the Contractor upon assignment by QAQC Manager and Coordinator.
Monitor and co-ordinate inspection and test schedules and planning in liaison with CTR’s Quality Organization and COMPANY relevant team.
Attend COMPANY’s inspection on critical component for FPSO (mainly for structure and piping) random basis.
Review and audit for inspection, testing and QC activities of CTR’s on random basis including related data base, document control.
Review and audit on random basis the welding records, NDT records on behalf of COMPANY and make sure all the NDT inspectors are properly checking their scope of work.
For any quality issues and anomaly that he notices, the QC inspector shall immediately inform the QAQC Coordinator / QAQC Manager and will issue a related NCR/CAR upon request.
Follow up the resolution of NCR/CAR relevant to the discipline and area, expedite for implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Review welding maps, welding sequence and NDT plan for field application related to fabrication, Welding/NDT.
Physically check and ensure that traceability of material is implemented from the warehouse to the fabrication shops and if deemed necessary shall use PMI for suspected items.
Review test pack documents for piping pre-commissioning and attend various pre-commissioning tasks upon requesting or assignment.
Perform other tasks that may be assigned by his hierarchy.

Attend contractor office and site safety induction and adapt behaviour to fully comply with security, health and safety instructions.
Ensure that an effective implementation of HSE system is applied, as appropriate at site.
Take time for checking safety documents and permits at site.
Ensure that risk assessment prior to start new activity is properly conducted and understood by personnel involved.
Make himself visible at site and available/approachable for discussion about HSE concerns.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Certificate in welding, NDT, piping or experience in a similar position. (CWI, CSWIP, ASNT, API etc…)
Preferable with background in Quality Control at various offshore projects.
Minimum 5 years experience in a Offshore project quality control role in Petrochemical, Refinery or Fabrication Yard, of which 2+ years in most aspects of FPSO related procurement, fabrication & construction activity. (Quality control, inspection, testing and pre-commissioning)
Computer literate.
Good English : speaking, reading, writing
Able to work in multicultural environment.
