The Company:
A multi-national Oil and Gas Operator involved in a World Class Expansion Development being fabricated in Korea.

The Role:
Joining a Multi-national team based in one of the World's Largest Fabrication yards, this is an exciting long term (3 years+) role for an experienced QC Lead Piping Inspector to be part of a World Class Development.
The role will be based in Shinhan, Ulsan on an Expat basis and will report to the Reporting to the QA Manager – Shinhan for this World Class Project


• Support all HES Activities / Initiatives
• Observe for unsafe acts / unsafe conditions and raise observation cards.
• Participate in Behavioral Based Safety (BBS).
• Fully support and participate in all Injury and Incident Free (IIF) initiatives.
• Compliance with Ethics policies.
• Adheres to Project Execution Procedures.
• Review and approve contractor piping fabrication and installation inspection and test plans including dimensional control and cleanliness procedures
• Ensure completion QVDs are identified and that the correct records are identified in the FRB Table of Contents.
• Verify contractor is following fabrication and installation method statements
• Reviews and approves contractor’s piping welding and NDE traceability system and verifies adequate implementation including the preparation and revision control of weld traceability maps
• Develops piping surveillance and periodic assessment checklists.
• Reviews contractor piping material test reports.
• Ensures contractor maintains and adequately implements a build clean program
• Oversees surveillance of fit-up of pipe welds including materials, heat number traceability, preparation and preheat
• Oversees surveillance of in-process welding including interpass temperature and interpass cleaning
• Initiates nonconformance reports that involve piping and coordinates with the Lead Piping and Discipline Engineer to review and develop disposition.
• Oversees setup and daily operation of NEWS to ensure contractor’s data is accurate and received according to agreed timelines.
• Oversees final welding inspection including visual welding inspection and data submission to NEWS
• Prepare and distribute periodic reports from NEWS that include production, NDE Backlog and rejection rates.
• Monitor PWHT including inspection of thermocouple arrangements, resistance strip placement and insulation.
• Review PWHT reports including chart data for compliance to the welding procedure
• Coordinate with the Flange Management Supervisor to arrange witness of flange make up, including verification of flange face condition, correct gaskets and proper bolt installation and correct tightening and/or preloading method.
• Coordinate with the Lead Piping Engineer to review and approve test packages well in advance of actual test and that blinds, jumpers, vents and drains are adequately identified.
• Ensure all welds are reported NDE is cleared in NEWS before authorizing a pressure test packages for test
• Coordinate with the Punch List Coordinator to conduct reinstatement walk down and log outstanding items on the punch list
• Witness test system drying and sealing of openings.
• Verify single weld hook up points are not moved beyond their allowed movement envelope and that methods of movement are in accordance with approved procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A minimum of 15+ years of experience with a proven ability to work with contractor personnel in a mentoring/developmental role
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
• Fluency in AMSE B31.3, B&PV Section II,V, VIII and IX, NACE MR01-75 and TM0284, as well as related ASTM and EN Standards
• High critical thinking/reasoning ability
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Previous Korean Yards Experience
