The Role:

• Interpret and read Project SPECIFICATIONS and procedures.
• Inspect and monitor received Project material.
• To Monitor and inspect Welding and Quality Control works.
• To perform UT Cross-check in accordance with QA/QC Engineer’s request.
• To record all UT inspection results and daily report the results of the UT cross-check to the QA/QC Engineer.
• Verify the correctness of welding/NDT performance, and verify record performance figures provided by Subcontractor
• Record results of welding work for compliance with Project specifications.
• Witness and Record of WPS parameters during WPQ, production and production test.
• Witness of Welder Qualification Tests and check the qualification of production welders.
• Witness all QC inspection as per ITP or requested by the QA/QC Engineer
• Monitor UT equipment and consumables management by Contractor including calibration and consumable test report.
• Identify the critical activities and bottleneck for the progress of the modules or vessels related to UT. Anticipate; propose solutions to improve UT productivity.
• Closely follow up all welding, welding repairs and ensure the correct UT methods, percentage of UT are utilised to assure Project quality.
• Complete Internal Daily report.
• Ensure that all specified QC points are made and reported.
• Report immediately all activities or results of non conformances.
• Ensure that Non Conformance recommendations are implemented
• Report any deviation on performance or quality of welding
• Complete ‘lessons learnt’ file and prepare Quality Feed Back Notices.
• Report all dangerous activities out off HSE and rules, emphasizes Safety Program

• Report to Jacket Yard Construction Leader for:
o Reporting of inspection activities
o Non conformance or quality issues,
o Identification of potential impacts on welding performance,
• Liaise with:
o QA/QC Engineer for Non Conformance resolution
o HSE Officer or superintendent

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1 minimum)
• Familiar with AWS D1.1 and ASME IX (Experience with TOTAL GS STR301 / 201 is a plus)
• Previous experience with Structural Steel, Piping and Hull Fabrication (minimum 5 years welding inspection experience with Project background within Oil & Gas industry)
• Certified UT Level II (minimum) to - EN473/ISO 9712, or CSWIP or Company approved equivalent. ASNT certification may be acceptable but EN473/ISO9712 or CSWIP are preferred.
• Capable to perform all UT techniques (butt welds / T-connections of plates and Tubular T-K-Y connections) as specified in the Contract and Project procedures / work sheets.
• 10 years in UT as operator. Experience with Project background within Oil & Gas industry.
• Fluent English and Korean (spoken & written).
